Stop-losses is really a helpful tool for you to avoid more loss from the name it suggest. It do stop further loss but setting out these things does signifies that you arent doing active trading yet you are just making a floating order. Since we do talk about buy fast and sell fast then most of the time it do pertain about active trading which setting stop loss isnt really not needed at all since you are watching prices very actively on these times.

if the fork is too small you can sell more often and quickly but with small profits, if instead the fork increases, you may not sell (or buy) so quickly if that price is never reached.
So you need to have a mix of strategies and adapt to different periods.
