Have you ever supported, bought or mined a coin that died later on? Why did you support it? What did you learn from it?

It happens with almost all of us. I invested in few that died at later stage and the reason I invested was there promising team, roadmap, and whitepapers.
But this didn't stop me from investing in new coins.

I've supported and mined Heavycoin from its first day until it has become too difficult for me.
Back then we had the impression that everything a new coin needs for a breakthrough is a new and better algo. We were wrong. I still have those coins.
However, being there in the first days a coin is launched and mined is quite an experience.

unfortunately yes. I was so silly to participate in pump via telegram signal. I bought dark ether ( even don't know what is that) , pushed on buy button 3 times instead of 1 and then price dumped like 4 times.
It was a good lesson for me, but I have to overcome it

there is some coins that raise from long dead stat to rocket to sky , And there is coins where dev team left and community had to take over and went from nothing under 1 cent to 30 dollars like Rai block which I have hodl my coins would have been really rich now  Grin . Sometimes support a coin that you believe in when everyone else leave pays and when it does it pays off really good .
some cheap coins don’t mean that they are dead coins. One dead coin is Doge, no future coin, doesn’t develop.

No, and I hope I won't. I use plenty of reliable source, read the whole documentation of each project I invest so so far the factor of luck has been minimized. Smiley

So far, this has not happened to me but only because i'm not here long enough i believe.
Let's see when it happens to me.
Never have such experience either but you been new to the Bitcoin community and cryptocurrency doesn't determine you investing into dead coin cause I have seen a lot of newbie which loose their investment cause they invested into wrong coin. However, the only thing that will save you from been a prey is to ask question from people before making any investment.

I think in cryptocurrency, when it comes to issue of coin, many people have made one or two mistakes and they have learned from it. When deciding on investing in a coin, sometime, we are not so patient to do all necessary research and hence when the coin does not survive the market, we lose. I have once supported a coin and that was when I was a jr member and the coin later disappointed me because it did not meet up to expectation, but thank God today, I am making good moves with my coin.
except few names, rest of all has made mistakes and this is very normal because as a human it is not very likely of us to take right decision or stick with the right decision. Dealing with such a volatile market is definitely not a child's play. But if someone does a good research about his coin and the future of digital market, the chances of his making mistake will decrease tremendously. I would also like to wish you luck with your coin.

Very hard to abandon project in that you believe and invested own money, so I had such experience. I learned that we all make mistakes and should not dwell on dead projects.

From this we have learned that any coin can grow and any coin can fall if it has a small capitalization.

As I participated with different projects in bounty campaigns we can't predict that coins will be dead or not, that's why right now I am still holding the sgg coin I had even though the project still has no updates of their community. I was still hopeful that one day the devs will see another potential for this coin to grow someday. Its been almost a year since this coin was rewarded to me, but no further signs that this will show signs to rise or pump or be exchanged at other popular trading sites.

Yes, there were some coins I bought and lost too much money. In return I got more experience. I try to not make same mistakes again and again. It's an expensive experience though.

I have in my piggy Bank there are coins that seemed good at the time, and then just died. Why this happened is unclear, but fact there is fact.

People who do not sell such coins always hope to rise that there will be developers who will undertake the project and it will fly up again. Unfortunately, this is rather an exception to the rule.
If you are there in the world of the crypto currency, then you cannot expect that all the coins will be equally good and profitable. There will come certain situations when you might experience investing your money at a wrong place which will then result in loss of money as well. You need to make the right choice and that you need to study well before choosing any of the crypto coin.

I highly believe that most people here on crypto do really experience this matter which it is inevitable thing because we wont able to point out projects if they would die or not on next days or months/years to come. These kind of mistakes do happen but we should move on and let those trash or dead tokens to be kept in our wallet. Who knows? that one they would come back to life and you might able to get some profits with it on least expected.

You maybe pointing out coins that's already on exchangers yet has no sign of success but to me dead coins are those made out of scam. Before they enter trading sites they are already dead.

You will face certain situation when you will feel like that you have invested your money at a wrong place and that it will result in loss of your money. To stay away from any such situation, you need to be very much careful while making any of the decision and that you need to make the best possible choice so that you may never experience such kind of thing. Study well and only then make an investment.

I've had it before, and it cost me dearly. Because of my greed, several Eth became foam. I learned to sell as long as I made money, not to be greedy.
