Bitcoin will remain crypto no 1 among other altcoin species, although in early 2018 bitcoin prices have decreased very sharply, it will not make bitcoin lost value, but in 2018 is a correction of bitcoin prices that will increase higher than the previous year . I would say NAH to ethereum lead cryptomarket. Bitcoin as first and best known coin should always stay as #1 coin even time passes by. Without bitcoin, there wouldn't be any billion dollar worth crypto market.

I don't have the confidence to say that Etherium will beat BTC this year because BTC is more exposed in the market these days. I think because of the issues in different countries involving Bitcoin it became more popular now and are also being used by merchants despite the fact that the transaction fees were quite high recently. If Etherium would eventually have the same rate as Bitcoin then there's a chance that ETH could take over Bitcoin's position but for now that's obviously negative.

I think ethereum will not domninate bitcoin year this year, bitcoin is now slowly recovering from the big drop.
Ethereum is now slowly moving and it will take more improvement to overtake bitcoin.
So for this year, bitcoin will still dominate it. Maybe in the next few years some crypto will dominate it.

It's still a long way the gap is still very wide just take a look at the daily volume and everytime Bitcoin crash,  so I don't think this is the year that ethereum is going to beat Bitcoin maybe in the next three years if there is a major update in ethereum.

Ethereum is centralized, as demonstrated by Vitalik’s ability to command that “irregular state change”.  Among other things, I believe that is called a “single point of failure”.

There are some perfect descriptions, and there are some correct descriptions, I believe this is one that fully fits Ethereum. For such a long time, I could not bring myself to buy Ethereum or even store it, even when Bitcoin was having such problems with high fees and transactions. I know people call me stupid around my networks for thinking like this, but this is the point I do not like.

Bitcoin has many threats, but they are all indirect and can be overcome. I see Eth's centralized leadership exactly as the point of failure I dare not gamble on. So yes, today I have a bit of ETH, but I do not see me having it in two years. It can be whatever price it becomes, it will never win me over.

I think that bitcoin will lead the market recovery, and there will be another bull market for altcoins afterwards.
So I think ETH will start off losing ground on bitcoin before recovering. Everything is guesswork in crypto, and we still have nearly ten months of the year, but I don't think ETH will take number 1 spot this year.

The market has been on a low trading volume on the past 2 days, last january eth looks promising that most of the traders thinks that it could overtake bitcoin but looking at the prices today ethereum has slow down and there are a lot of factors for that. In my conclusion i think speculation at this point is rather useless since most of the coins are in red today, speculation might become relevant only when the market becomes healthy again and trading volume across the entire market become high again, overall based on latest market prices i think bitcoin will still dominate the crypto market during this year.
