Many things can happen - there's still half of a year to pass, PoS + ETH may do a great buzz out there...but I don't believe that BTCs dominance will be taken during this year.

BTC will remain to dominate this year and for the next years to come.
Ethereum has a good run for the past years but it will never replace bitcoin, time will come that people will jump to bitcoin mostly.

Bitcoin has been the best and is still the most popular cryptocurrency, so it will dominate in this year. Many people rate Ethereum very high, but it has not lived up to the expectations.

As of the current condition even though in the bleeding phase bitcoin is dominating the market since the beginning of 2018 and the mass adoption of bitcoin around the world means that it's not a good year for altcoins

many people believe that bitcoin is going to loose the dominance soon. i am also one of those believers. because there are better blockchain solutions already and one of them will beat bitcoin sooner or later. and yes ethereum is one of those solutions.

The BTC has been dominating the market so far. Will Etherium change the game in 2018? Will it beat BTC in 2018?
I do think that Bitcoin will remain on top of the cryptos. Although downtrend dominated the market this year, Bitcoin and other cryptosbare affected not only Bitcoin so logically, nothing's change on the rankings of the cryptos in the market since all cryptos have proportionally fell this year. We should rather hope for recovery to happen than to wait for cryptos to overtake one another.

Both Bitcoin and Ethereum are havibg difficulties to make an increase on their market value due to the continuous downfall in the market. If this situation would continue for the rest of this year, ethereum would remain next to Bitcoin since proportionality on their market value is observable. We should rather hope for changed to come than to speculate which one would be on top this year.

Ethereum will beat bitcoin? No. If its about of beating bitcoin then you guys have to forget that thing. But if you think that its platform would develop more and better blockchains then you can keep on thinking about it. ETH won't surpass bitcoin, think of it how many scams are there on ethereums ERC20?

I think this is not right time for ethereum to become king , because bitcoin still high the price even decrease the price and I think after few years the still king is the bitcoin and the year 2021 or maybe 2022 we have new king which is ethereum coin.

Nope not any time soon and will not be , bitcoin will always be a king and no one can challenge it no one will let it go #2 , on the other hand Ethereum almost every altcoin and new ico is challenging Ethereum , the likes of NEO , CARDANO , EOS , ICX Just to name the fews and those coins will eat % of Ethereum market cap. it gone more than half of btc MC last year since there is no NEO / CARDANO / EOS and ICX i doubt now

No matter as many statements as there are, bitcoin as a cryptocurrency foundation is undeniable. even I feel that is an absolute thing. I don't know what will happen in the future. However based on what is happening now, and what happened in the past. All of that shows that bitcoin is the one who will become the dominant.

Bitcoin will always dominate the cryptos market. Ethereum is not going to be able to take the lead i think. As prices of cryptos are based on the price of Bitcoin.

I don't think so, Bitcoin is a game changer and it'll remain the game changer. All altcoins go with bitcoin price ups and downs. Beating BTC is not easy for any altcoin.Although a nice altcoin indeed ethereum yet to compete with bitcoin would be very difficult.

I guess Ethereum woun't never dominate Bitcoin. Moreover, in next 5 years any other blockchain woun't dominate bitcoin.

As of now, we still cannot tell whether it is Ethereum or Bitcoin that would prove to be profitable in the end. There is still a good deal of time left before the curtain of 2018 finally falls. If we consider what happened last year, the surging of the prices happened in the later part of the year. We still have to wait a little for that. We are almost at the end of September. These are times full of suspense and excitement. As for me, in terms of percentage growth, that would be Ethereum. Primarily because Ethereum is still way cheaper than Bitcoin.

~snip~... and yes ethereum is one of those solutions.
Not correct. Although Bitcoin and Ethereum are both market leaders, and the same similarities as they can be used as digital payment but, I think Bitcoin has better technology than Ethereum. For the price; Bitcoin vs Ethereum, at the time of writing, Bitcoin is valued at $6,674.96 with a market cap of US$115,377,610,320 billion, while Ethereum is currently valued at $236.15, with a market cap of US$24,123,322,527 billion according to CoinMarketCap.com. So, how can Ethereum take the lead if the gap between them is growing bigger and bigger? Bitcoin has a 5% growth over the last month, while the Ethereum price continues to crash.

yes of course bitcoin will still remain dominant and will remain the number one cryptocurrency in the world because bitcoin has a very limited total supply and has very high demand making bitcoin dominant.

I don't think that ETH will take first place in capitalization chart. For example BTC dominance is 52% now, ETH`s cap is 2.37x lower than BTC`s one.
