Maybe, but not now bitcoin is too far to beat. Euthereum need more years to reach the value of bitcoin, who knows maybe 15 - 20 years ethereum will be on the top.

Now or later, I don't think that ETH can beat btc someday. BTC is high value and total supply is 21M only
while ETH is 97.8+M. it seems impossible to beat BTC.

This is inevitable in the next 2 years because investors are very upset about Bitcoin's very long time of verification and transaction fees, which are much higher than for Ethereum. If Bitcoin does not improve in time, then investors are unlikely to continue investing in Bitcoin anymore, but instead, switch to altcoins and ICOs. The first 2018 clearly shows that the trend of investors has shifted to altcoins and ICOs a lot.

The chance is low but one should never say never in markets. The rise in ETH in 2017 outperformed
BTC nicely so it may repeat that  in 2018.

I don't think ethereum price will reach the bitcoin price this year 2018. I think it is possible the price increase ethereum like bitcoin in the year of 2019-2020 and in the future ethereum will bit bitcoin. Many people saif that the ethereum coin will become bitcoin someday and for sure that really happen.  Because if we see the performace of ethereum the performace is very good compared to other coin.

there is always that tiny chance that the flippening will happen. I personally do not think we will see this happen. However we could get close, as ethereum moves to prove of stake this year which will give more incentive for people to hold eth.

No, ETH in terms of value can hardly be compared to bitcoin at this point in time or short. But in the future it is unlikely that ETH will be able to expand and be more widely used than bitcoin. ETH has a constant supply that exceeds that of bitcoin, which may be a factor in the value of ETH compared to bitcoin.

Cost as much as Bitcoin? Not even kinda possible, but the market caps could "flippening" over for a little while before retrace. I believe Ethereum came close to that last year and people were losing their minds, would be funny to see it actually happen and see what happens to people then .
