I think not, ETH current price is much lower than BTC. If this happens it will probably take a few years to come.
I completely agree with you, the ETH has a very large potential, but now it costs 12 times cheaper than Bitcoin, that it would take several years to catch up with him. in 2017, Bitcoin rose from 1.000 dollars to 20,000 dollars. If there is a coin that can beat bitcoin i think ethereum has the highest potential. I am open to the idea of ethereum surpassing bitcoin but i do not think it is going to happen in the near future. Ethereum team has been planning for this to happen for years.
now ethereum is still going to grow and has good potential, so I think now ethereum will continue to develop coins and make potential coins, although it is difficult but still a great opportunity. |

You have already answered it, bitcoin is never going to be able to compete with ethereum, because both are very different technologies. Anyway, eth is a good coin.. but it will never beat btc. I do not think this can happen, the BTC is currently the market leader so far, and they will not have any coins that can compete. so please rest assured BTC.

I think that it might be possible if something different happens on the market, but there needs to be FUD over bitcoin in order to make it crash.
If bitcoin crashes, i am sure that ethereum is gonna take off the throne.

As we all know everything is possible in this cryptocurrency markets. Bitcoin may be hacked or bugged and ethereum can easily replace it. Well this is nighmare scenario but NEVER say NEVER. Noone knows what to happen.

It will be difficult to beat BTC if indeed there is a possibility of ETH can. I agree with your opinion. ETH is not able to beat BTC no matter whenever. Although ETH is popular now, they are still a coin born after the BTC and much depends on the price fluctuation of the BTC. |

There is no chance that ethereum can reach the value of bitcoin this year. Because everytime bitcoin goes down ethereum goes down too. I think ethereum needs a little more time before it will cost like bitcoin. |

i think it is not going to be easy for ETH to beat BTC in just a short time and even in the future ETH can hardly catch up with BTC because ETH and BTC are two different kind of blockchain, so it is quite hard to compare them to each other, and because of ETH supply is unlimited, it is harder to pump ETH rise higher than BTC. BTC is always dominating the market so all altcoins include ETH will be effected by btc's control. |

I don't see that happening it anytime soon. Just look around and ask people who don't know about crypto, how many have heard about bitcoin and how many have heard about ethereum? The shift will come after more people get into crypto and new people will first buy bitcoins which will always keep BTC in demand. Next 2-3 years, BTC is not going anywhere, specially with lightening network etc coming in to play soon.
I do not doubt that the etherium has a huge potential and possibly even exceeds Bitcoin in terms of functionality. Just judging by the already reached maximum prices for Bitcoin in the area of 20,000 dollars, I doubt that the etheric can achieve the same results. |
