So can anyone tell me why this is happening.

I have 3 modded rx480 8gb and one modded rx470 4gb

when dag creation time is around 2000ms, the hashrates are 28 mh on all cards

when dag creation time is around 5000ms, hasrates drop to 18-19mh

can anyone suggest what could be the problem here?

It's the fluctuation of hashrate which impacts dag creation time, not the other way around.
Your cards are not stable thus the hashrate differs so much.
Try to make them stable by detecting the problem causing this.
Most of the time, it is excessive overclocking.

i dont think this is the case...i have rx470 running at home and it started to behave like this. 3x rx480 were working at full 28mh speed at 2000ms and 5000ms dag creation time. we moved the miner to a different spot, still fibreoptic internet, very fast...and now the rig started behaving like my card at home...something else must be wrong. not all three cards at once would start exhibiting problems, after working for 6 months without a single hitch

What is the miner's new location?  Could have greater rf interference.

server room, definitely way more electronic stuff around it.. although, my computer at home is sitting alone under the desk...there is a quite large number of AP around though...

Maybe that's it, not bc it seems all that likely, more bc the only thing that changed is environment.

i fixed it...in drivers, gpu workload must be on "compute", not "graphics"

Well you did not fix anything, amd did and that is why you have to set compute workload now cause that is called dag fix by amd.

Hi, I saw this post from you, and I'm also having the same problem, could you please share where I can change the configuration of my video card from graphics to computer? I've tried several ways without success, thank you very much.

I think you can just press "Y" in claymore it automatically switch from graphics to compute  mode. Thou i have not tried this myself i manually change them from graphics to compute.

Compute mode is in adrenalin driver version not on older drivers.

Go to AMD Radeon Settings > Global Settings > Then click GPU Workload to compute

Do this per GPU sometimes it becomes buggy even after selecting compute mode it still displays graphics just restart your PC.

Or you can do it by registry edits

save your time configuring when pc restarts

Rock, thank you very much for the help, I pressed the "Y" key and it is working properly, if you stop, my next step will be to tweak the radeon configuration.

Hi guys
Yesterday I was successful all day with the tip that our friend went from pressing Y to change the mode of the video card to compute.
But unfortunately this morning I went to check and returned to normal as follow prints.

First the print from yesterday that everything went fine:
https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uYYYe8vs7Ug/W2mCjJj4axI/AAAAAAAAA30/KQ5bx-ZIcEIOJyAxj8P1akWIQY57rHeWwCLcBGAs/s1600/Dag%2B21.png

Now that the mining industry has halved:

https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-32lFYgwzF2w/W2mCk0jP4qI/AAAAAAAAA34/q-NeHaj5PKEG77SR336zQZBp-akZ2wqEgCLcBGAs/s1600/Nice.png

I see that the miner changes this DAG from # 21 (where it was well undermined) to DAG # 203, is there any way to leave # 21 fixed?

Sorry for the pictures I could not put directly here.

Oh, and I also used the program indicated by the friend above.

I suggest you try the other methods posted above, manual switch from graphics to compute, use the tool or change via registry.

You are mining in nicehash which it depends where the hash buyer tells you where to mine. i believe that dag 21 is from MOAC,

Also check your OC, too much OC will produce memory errors and too much will result in lower of hash. i think you didnt even bios mod your cards.

Hi, Rock, I've done all the procedures here, and I've also installed a driver that AMD has released for miners.
I did not change the BIOS of my boards, the only thing I did was to change in the program of the boards of Game mode for OC mode, I will try to change this to see if it helps.

Maybe I can influence my machine? Celeron, Windowns 7, 2gb ram?
