hi, i want to open a crypto-themed, brick-and-mortar store. currently trying to figure out what I should sell. a couple of ideas i have are hard wallets, crypto apparels and mining equipment. Any other suggestion? I want to build a community around this place so while profitability is important, it is not of utmost priority. thanks a lot for any advice!

I like the idea of the clothing line. Apparel with the key phrases like Hodl and Lambo etc That would be pretty cool. You could also put those kind of things on coffee cups and the likes there of.

Might want to take a look at CryptoSteels[1], OpenDimes[2], and Digital Bitboxes[3] to add to your brick and mortar store. I'm sure displaying them in public will spark some curiousity for the cryptocurrency holders, as these products aren't really that common to your typical crypto holder(especially the opendime and digitalbitbox). Check them out. Linked below for your convenience.

Merchandise, Hardware Wallets, Books/guides, Mining equipment, perhaps some sort of gift card (if an exchange offers them or you can get an exchange to offer them).

If you want to build a sense of community you could try have some sort of service/event where people can come and learn and discuss cryptocurrencies.

Yes! I forgot books. Definitely sell some of Andreas Antonopoulos books. I haven't read them personally but I've heard nothing but good feedback on his books Mastering Bitcoin[1], Mastering Ethereum[2](pre order), and The Internet of Money[3]. Pick some up and sell em on your store; they'll probably grab some attention from the readers.

I agree with you, that kind of things can be very profitable, because they are suitable for everyone, most people heard of coins and they will easily buy such things even though they are not involved in much.

Right now, in theory, there is everything you need for life. Branded clothes, coffee, ice-cream baskin robins. They all have a name and a chip. You may like to do floristry and open your flower shop and make your own unique chip. maybe it will be roses with petals on which the name of your chosen one is written.

Good luck on building the crypto community in your place.

Branded clothes
This is what's on my mind that will start hyping the crypto trend in your country when someone avails your crypto t-shirts it's like a free advertising from the coin you have bought. I've also seen some car plates that tags "bitcoin" and other altcoin of buyers choice.

I would do a combination of a Coffee shop and a Book shop. There is always some debate around Bitcoin and "buying coffee".

I would proof people wrong about the misconception that it is too expensive to buy coffee with Bitcoin. {they say the miners

fees, makes micro payments like this impossible.} If you can implement the Lighting network it would even be better,

because it is ideal for micro transactions. Go for it.  Wink

As I were you, I won't sell hardware wallets... Especially for the average people... It's a rule of thumb that you only buy hardware wallet from the webshop of the original manufacturer... especially you should not buy hardware wallet from ebay...
In a brick and mortar shop you will have to provide a warranty (or something similar). Imagine that you sell a hardware wallet (an original one, not a tampered) to someone (an Average Joe). He starts to play with it at home, buys 1 bitcoin and accidentally lose the seed, PIN, or anything. It's definitely not a warranty case, but you have to be able to handle these kind of situtaions as well.
Other stuff is OK, books, clothing, etc. but be really cautious with the above mentioned things.

make your own birthday cards or something like that. in these cards are keys for some inexpensive altcoins or bitcoins (some satoshis). in addition, should be in the birthday card a writing, how and from where you can download the wallet and how to insert the key in the wallet. so it it easy for customers to buy some coins or to buy a present. this is maybe something for your shop.

Thats great bro!we wish your success of this your new crypto bussiness store.i suggest that you must selling a mining equipment because many people now want to become a miner and the equipment is limited in some few store or maybe selling some cellpone with an application of all kinds of wallet in altcoins like ledger nano,so that when you need to view your asset of different crypto all you can see in the phone.

I guess a crypto themed pop up restaurant will do. Though some of the users here have suggested to open a coffee place. My idea will be a customized menu involving burgers and fries. The sizes will be newbie, full member and legendary sizes. That will be awesome. Then desserts can be names of altcoins but the best seller will be named bitcoin. Additional name for coffee can be satoshi and also name of some forums here like economics .. Bitcoin discussion, etc. Hope this helps.

Minning equipments are something that you can only order online in most countries and they cost a lot and if you are going to do this then remember you will need super tight security.

You could also hire someone to teach the newbies about cryptocurrency..how it works or have some paid sessions in the store itself where you can give them kind of a crash course.

I like the idea of selling books, clothlines and gadgets with crypto-related themes. As to the hardware wallets, it is a great idea too, but I would be thinking you need to have some very well thought-off processes to convince your customers that the hardware wallets you are selling have not been tampered. So it is better to have it well thought off before you even start. Maybe you could strike a partnership with the official vendors, so that they can audit and certify your store?

Yes, by providing anything in the shop, provide warranty is very important.
Warranty can be used for building customer trust so we can make sure our demand in the increase.
