This is a very valid issue, and one that needs to be addressed by everyone dealing in crypto. We need a plan that specially includes security, ease of accessibility, a valid knowledge base, and potential assistance. These are just pointers, around which a concrete plan, paperwork, and chain linking each requirement needs organized.

This is definitely a far away problem for most. Who knows what crypto will be like in 50 years?

But I have thought about this too, and I would definitely give over my private keys on a piece of paper to my children.

Actually cryptocurrencies are totally a good assets, that's why all of us are prepare to give cryptocurrencies to our family. As a wide idea, just even if we are alive and living with our family and friends, we must teach them and share our knowledge on how to used and accessed cryptocurrencies. So, if we die, the chain of knowledge in crypto will continue.

If you have a big amount of money invested in crypto I think the best way actually is to do a Twitter tutorial with your password And keys And store it in a dare place ( bank, etc...)

I was thinking about this after my father's severe brain injury. "What if it happened to me?" question comes to mind. I personally did write all my wallet passwords onto paper. Yes, real white paper isolated and hidden in house. I told it to 1 of my friends and mum. That's gonna work I guess.

maybe I Will save all information about my cryptocurrency in a cloud drive, and then give it all information how to access this into my familly. or maybe print in a papper wallet, at least I need to teach my familly to know more about cryptocurrency.

thanks for posting something like this, you make me aware about this things.

Write a mf wills letter and gave it to your lawyer, just like any other legacy you should writedown your privatekey to some piece of paper or print the QR code. If you dont have any lawyer or else you should make your kid or family member to understant cryptocurrency world it self. how if you die and left that pk but none of your family member know how to use that pk, what a waste right ?

On a more serious note, you are on point and you have opened the understanding of so many to this crucial topic. I had a discussion of something related to this with a friend and to be candid, the best way to go about it is to will all the security details to your children and your wife if you are a man. This can be done, not by writing in black and white alone, but buy storing every bit of information in a database. Encode the data base with a password, then give that single password to them.

i think we should keep a record of all he currencies we own and their possible values, wallet passwords along with other investment and keep them in a safety deposit box in a bank vault with clear instructions on who it should pass to in case we die. this way the investment is not only safe but we are also guaranteed that it will pass on to our loved ones.

In my opinion, when we invest in this market, we need to take care of the reliability of our coins, but so that after death our family could dispose of my coins, it is necessary to draw up and certify a will in a notary and to give it to relatives after my death

I already have a solution for that as i had this topic in my head earlier.
The way i found was that all of my passwords, private keys, bitcoin addreses that i ever used, in short everything i ever used in this crypto world, I've printed information of every damn thing in a diary. The way is, whenever i create a new exchange account or a new wallet address, i store all the information from my username to master seed separately in my pendrive and when there is enough information to fill a complete page, i print it out and stick it in my diary. And I keep the diary in my safe and no one knows about it and they'll eventually get to know when they go through my things after I'm gone forever!

I was recently thinking about this myself.

So I sat my partner down (she has no idea how to access wallets etc) and had a chat. I explained where all the important pieces she will need to access my accounts are and told her to contact a close friend of ours (Who knows crypto and how to access wallets) to open my wallet and transfer money she needs.

It was the only way I could think of for now to know my children will have access to it.

This is a very good point. As my brother was the reason for me to get into crypto as he's been around for three years now and knows the in-and-out, I have shared with him my private key from the beginning but now I saw this post, I think I'll have to share also my exchange access with someone from the family. It is true that you never know what would happen in your life and good to be prepared.

Its sounds like good idea but if they are not knowing about crypto currency how to use it . Then it will be piece of paper . Better to write complete summary and value of asset your holding as well as in future prediction . Again how long you will be creating these kind of letters.
