Edited on Sep, 25th:

Hi everyone,

I've been trying to repair some MOV videos that are corrupted (seems to be a header file problem).
I already tried many different softwares to repair, all didn't work.

So, I'm paying 0.05 btc for each video that you can repair and send me back. I have around 10 videos to repair.
if you wanna try here is the link to the folder containing all of the 9 corrupted videos that should be fixed:

https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B06oWSh21_HRbnBINkFUeDhid1U&usp=sharing

I asked you to try to fix one of them, and send me a preview  (few seconds of the video is ok). Then I'll send you the btc and after you receive you can send me the whole video fixed.

Tks so much,

-----
Edited:

Hi guys,

I've received many answers (and PMs) just few hours after my post! Tks for that!

The link for one sample of the corrupted videos is on this first post.
I just would like to say that I'll give the 0.05 for the first one that send me a good preview (with the video fixed).
As soon as I receive this working preview from someone that fixed the video, I'll inform everyone.

I just would like to let you guys know that.
For those that worked hard but will not be the first one to send me the working preview, I'll still send 0.01 btc as reward.

Thanks so much for all your help and comprehension.

Best.

Where did the MOV files come from?  How do you think they got corrupted?

Is the footage of anything interesting?    Wink

Hi, it's a personal video that I recorded with my Nikon D3100 in my trip to Laos.
For me is interesting, but won't be for most of the people!
I don't know how they got corrupted, but it's interesting that I have other files in the same folder, of the same trip, that I copied from the same SD Card, that are working. But some (9 or 10 videos) are not working.
I do know that I use this external HD (where I keep these videos) very often, so could be because of this.

Yeah I'm having trouble downloading them as the timer is always stuck on 20 seconds.Try Dropbox or a better known online storage solution as it'd mean that this just works (famous slogan used to describe Macs)

I can try my entire tool kit on my MacBook Pro (as I got rid of my desktop and trying to sell off it's parts).I'm pretty sure Final Cut Pro 10 (or X) can handle this as well as everything else on there.

Hello,

Today i tried to reconstruct one of the videos.
It turned out the file is completely filled with 0's.
The file doesn't have ANY data at all.
I suspect this file was recovered after being removed from a filesystem.

You guys... read my post above...
Open it with a Hex editor and you'll see the data is NULL.
It's just a file containing zero's. VLC won't be able to read anything from that

Martijnvdc is right, tried any program possible, converter or not, it results in a 3 sec video full of lines. Nothing more.
If you still have them from the sd card, try with recuva.

This is the result of converting your video http://www.filedropper.com/dsc2775

Are all of you guys trolling?

Seriously, the source video file does not contain any data.
It's filled with 0's. I would strongly advise everyone to look at the data in a hex editor.
So you can SEE the contents of the file yourself.
There are multiple cases where this phenomenon could happen...

I have a lot of experience with audio/video codecs. I am able to manually reconstruct headers for all popular video containers and A/V codecs.
There is literally nothing to reconstruct in that file. It's just a file containing 12186054 bytes with the value 0.
There is no header, there is no data, there is nothing.

This is what it looks like in a hex editor:

you still a noob so dont expect people to believe you straight away. im still waiting for the op to upload the file to a better host as the host its currently on is less than helpful... it could be blank due to the hosts filing system detecting corruption and writing in 0's..
