We are excited to announce that the GIN Alpha Freighter registration has ended and we have selected the participants as follows:
- 15 on the platform masternodes,
- 5 off the platform masternodes.

Due to a high number of registrations (68) of nodes hosted on the platform we had to only accept one per user and differentiate between them by the age of the collateral transaction giving a higher priority to those with an older tx.

The most recent freighter collateral transaction is on the 4th of July, 2018, so everything past that date did not make the cut.

If you were selected you should see a new channel "freighters-alpha" on Discord where announcements will be made. If you think you did not make the cut because of a mistake please get in touch with CTO Dragos (bredex#4304) on Discord - https://discord.gg/B5mypUt.

We will start deploying freighter software on 7 Mar and aim to have a public network visualisation and statistics interface by 13 Mar.

the halving changed to 2020 or it was always like that?
Had the impression that we'd halve to 5 GIN per block for masternodes this march and not next march.

Where did you get that information?

We are currently at block 255.243 with a 2 min blocktime we should have a halving at 262.800 in about ten days.

Or is the data on the homepage outdated?

Block Reward Halving

In most cases, block reward halvings often cause short-term increases of price.
In most cases, the effects come from block reward halvings tend to not stable and not last for too long.
They are likely instant or temporary effects on price due to over optimistic feelings and FOMO of investors at some points of time after halving events.
Don't mention about halving, in long term aspect I still thought that GINcoin is one of the most deserved altcoins to spend money to invest.
The project built up good masternode hosting service, and has been one of the largest more than one year since the beginning of Gincoin project.
Nevertheless, it's always safer to not all-in invest, should spread capital around to other projects, not only Gincoin.
Agreed with you that GINcoin has been under valued ATM, especially if we look at its chart and compare current price with its all time high months ago.

It is with great honor that we announce the GIN Foundation has been registered as of 18 March 2019 in Amsterdam, Netherlands! 

What is the GIN Foundation and how does it benefit me?

Similar to other crypto foundations you may have heard of before (Ether, Dash, Litecoin, Tron, Zen etc..) the duty of the foundation is to advance the notoriety and presence of the coin.

The mission of the foundation is to make GIN and GEA protocol globally trusted, recognized and used. The foundation will advance the use of the GIN and GEA protocol in various other blockchain projects. In this context protocol means the concept, the idea of how a digital service or software works and code means the actual writing in a programming language that enables the protocol. The GINcoin code and protocol as well as GEA code and protocol is and will remain public, and can be used by anyone wanting to incorporate the standards into new applications.

The objectives of the foundation are:
(i)  dissemination & education related to the coin and standard protocols adoption;
(ii)  research on the protocol and future use of GINcoin and GEA protocols as to become known standards in the blockchain and distributed ledger technology infrastructure protocols;
(iii) partnerships for enhancing the GIN and GEA protocols and usage with other blockchain projects.
