If an entity is large and powerful enough, is it possible for it to gain a monopoly advantage and manipulate the rises and falls of the virtual currency market?
I seem to know there is a case like this one of the big market and its end seems to have closed because it unravels the case, it really will make the loss of the players in the market that they manipulate the price, I think it's an unfair game.

It is possible, we have seen it last two monthes. Last two monthes at a time when there were a lot of ban news about cryptocurrencies and fud you could see how on exchanges price was dumped through many small orders.

If that person holds half of the market then he can manipulate the market price. But I think there is no people as of now that can control the price. If then, they are group of whales. Yes, bunch of whales can easily manipulated the market.
It wouldn't take holding half the market or anywhere near it. Currently, a whale could dump $50,000,000 of btc on the market at once and wipe the price down from $9800 to $7800 representing an instant 20% drop in the price that would cause other people to pile on to the downward momentum inflicting further damage. In this scenario, $50m USD would wipe out $35 billion of btc market cap. You don't have to be anywhere near as big as you think it have dramatic power over the market. But also, the risk of acting like this could epicly backfire, and I don't find it likely too many people are going to risk $50m USD on a ploy that may ultimately end up not working if other momentum traders don't also pile into the selling bonanza.

The smaller markets get manipulated all the time because they are easier to move, but Bitcoin and Ethereum markets are tougher to manipulate and would likely need a group of experienced traders to do so. And yes markets have been ranging and slowly drawing down but don't expect this to go on forever, I am seeing a lot of falling wedges lately, which is a bullish sign.

I think it is possible for someone with a massive amount of resourses. BUT you should understand it is easy only to manipulate low market cap cryptocurrencies.

That's possible if an entity can own majority of a certain coin like bitcoin, but seeing the current distribution of bitcoin by this time, it' s quite impossible for a single entity to acquire the majority. As far as I know bitcoinbis now distributed througout the world and no one can even trace the ownership or exact place where majority of this coins belongs.

I think so, it may be possible and these someone are people holding large number of coins. In which their single movement has a greater impact on cryptocurrency in the market. At the time they had to pull out their coins and sell, the value of coins gets lower.

Absolutely yes, for those who have the greater power has the advantage to manipulate the crypyocurrency. Yhey can buy a large amount of cryptocurrency in a low price then the supply will be scarce and the price will rise . Those bought tokens will be sold in a much bigger amount then the market price of cryptocurrency will drop again. They will do it again and again in their benifits.

It is very possible. We can see it on their coordinated attack to Bitcoin and how they managed to FUD it and buy bitcoin at a very low price. Then the next thing is hype. Bitcoin market had always been like this. Whales together with influencer and social media promoters, plays a huge part on this. If whales tapped these mediums, they will be able to control the market effectively. It is the mood and emotion that dictates the market and influencers are great on this kind of stuff. Yes and they work hand in hand with the media. They create huge news and speculations in the market to drive the market up after buying at a very low position, and then when they are satisfied with the value and have gotten as much as they feel is good enough for them, they cash out, start the round in the other way with FUDs, control the market to keep going down, since there has been a lot of greed in the market, it makes it easy for the weak hands to dump until it gets back to where they feel comfortable again to buy back with the cycle going over and over like that. We cannot escape it.

We are witnessing lots of market manipulation in the crypto markets.
When a public figure belonging to a financial institution speak badly about crypto, you can be sure he has shorted the market or he is buying the market when it drops.
When fake news get sent out, like the fake Vitalik death last year, it was to manipulate the market.
And for the smaller markets, the daily trading volumes of many alt coins are below 10million. It does not take much for a single trader to sell the market in order to buy it cheap later on.
Plus there are so many pump and dump groups, what they are doing is price manipulation as they are coordinating buys or sells at the same time to move the markets.
This is happening all the time in crypto markets as the regulations are not as strong yet.
P.S. this does not mean that manipulation is not happening in traditional markets... you just dun hear about it publicly as regulators are on the lookout for manipulators in those markets.

There are daily manipulations of the market (actually of every market) but there is no need to be a big investor: it's more simple to "suggest" to a politician to make a declaration, so you - knowing in advance what he will declare - can make the right moves, in the meanwhile that the public will go in a predictable direction. Actually, I think that 90% of political declaration have the only aim to influece the market and to create profit for friends.

The term virtual currency market is a broad term and anyone can manipulate the market, since it is easy to create a currency, anyone could come up with a new currency and make some money and that is also included in the manipulation. If you are talking about a currency like bitcoin,it is really hard to manipulate unless you have multiple millions worth of coins.

Certainly, if the team has more than 30% of the market wealth, the market has the role of manipulation!
Everything is affected by supply and demand, and digital encryption is no exception.
A lot of buying digital currency price will go up, sell can make fall!

Surely, someone has really the power to manipulate the prices, specially those who are possessing great volume of bitcoin. Whales are not just manipulating the price they have the concern for the stability and maintenance of coin. Though they can manipulate the value, they dont still has the full control over all this. There is no way they can put down tge market, it takes great number of people tp do so.

Well, life is unfair, as you can see not all people are born rich. Same goes with trading and market manipulation. There are several people who have access to a huge amount of Bitcoin because they are an early adopters. These adopters are autmatically became billionaires when Bitcoin skyrocketed and since they have the money and Bitcoin, they can easily stage FUD and hype on which they prefer to maximize their profit on the market.

It is possible and it is already happening in various ways for a couple of years. Pump and dump for example is really easy in an unregulated market like this. And i feel like this or last year a lot of the big money joined in , and they know how to manipulate.

Of course it's possible, and it happens all the time. Big whales have the power to do this directly, politicians just by declarations.
