There are a lot of Filipino Facebook groups that scam newbies. I got wary of this issue because one of my friend got scammed because he joined a "pool" but after a lot of promises the one that "pooled" their coins just vanished in an instant.
Please my Filipino friends, beware of FB groups because most of the posts there will just make you lose money.
Yes, I'm quite aware of that. There are group of people creating FB group to scam innocent people thinking they might get a chance to earn profit. I encounter it sometimes, they pretend that you will double or more your bitcoin by sending small/large amount just by 7 days or less. They also intend to post a certain payout photos so that more people will get hook as if its paying.

I've been joining a lot of cyptocurrency Facebook groups and have found most of them to be filled with scams- it's really sad to see how many people fall for them to, usually double your money or MLM scams While I have never joined any of those groups it is not something that surprises me, in the forum we have mods and active users actively fighting against scammers but in Facebook you are not going to get any of that and since no one calls them on their scam new users get convinced they can make a lot of money really fast and we know what happens next, they lose their money and most of the time they will blame bitcoin for their mistakes.

Most of newbies always want an instant profit so they easily dragged on that kind of promise. Honestly even with warnings, they will disregard it as long as they see a nice reward out from that shady investment. And the result? Being wrecked. Im not saying it's good that they experienced scam because of unawareness but I see without such experienced like that, they will never learned. Please put this also in Filipino local section in the forum. Lots of newbies lurking on that section rather than here in Bitcoin Discussion. May I know the name of the group so we can put some list on PH locals.

There's a trending news on one of the crypto groups I am in, just saw it last night. I think we must be very vigilant on these MLM scheme investments that will only take our money instead of having a profit. Hope your friend learned his lesson although its the hard way. Thanks for the heads up OP.

Post those groups so that newbies here can stay away from it and they are warned. I got wary of this issue because one of my friend got scammed because he joined a "pool" but after a lot of promises the one that "pooled" their coins just vanished in an instant.
Okay there's the keyword why your friend got scammed, "promise".. Please my Filipino friends, beware of FB groups because most of the posts there will just make you lose money.
Don't be greedy, scammers are everywhere regardless of the nationality if they are scammers they don't care on who are they scamming. If you buy with their sweet talks and you are greedy, you'll fall to their trap.

We must be very vigilant in whatever group we are joining, specially in Facebook because nowadays many people are scamming people. They just want to make easy money and not work hard for it. Whatever group it is or even people directly messaging you and says you will earn more money by this or doing that, most probably it is a scam. Do not reply and just ignore those messages if you got one.

Scammers usually shows that they earned 0.XXX worth of bitcoin beside is the current value in Philippine Peso through a picture. (Of course, newbies will usually fall for it because there is a proof) but then again, after asking the newbies to send their btc to a specific address they will suddenly vanish.

That's the other reason why other Filipino investors afraid to investing in crypto because of these scammers, Their making crypto reputations bad to filipinos i've joined in crpto groups in Philippines and i've read alot of feedbacks to bitcoin that their money has gone because of HYIP scams, Mining scams and other investment scams and now they are scared to invest.

There are too many cryptocurrency scam/advertising groups, especially on Facebook. They add me to the various groups without my permission. I'm tired of wiping these people off my friend list. I wont add any crypto-related friend on facebook, no more!

Not only to filipino but as well to other nation. There are a lot of people now are using bitcoin and other altcoin to scam people. If their target is not aware of their doings he might get invest to them without knowing that people are only good in saying good words. If i get friend request and asking that they have a strategy to earn 0.01 to 1 BTC, i will delete them on my friend list then block them.

Thanks for the fair warning, however this is not new, and I do hope that your Filipino friends learn it the hard way. There are so many scammers are out who really targets newbies with a promise of huge returns. Moral lesson is not to be greedy. And those scammers will just create a new Facebook group and will try to scam again and again. That's why Mark Z is really clamping down on everything crypto related because of this example. I myself was a victim when I was a newbie, that's why I stay away from HYIP and other Ponzi schemes. So just be careful guys, and just remember this, "If it's too good to be true, it probably is." .
