We are in the buy phase now, still early days and no it's not too late.
Where we sit now it's far far more likely it'll increase than go down

Hello,

I'm still learning about crypto currencies and willing to buy some bitcoins. Is it good time to buy?

Thanks
No one knows if this is a good time to buy bitcoins. Because its price is hard to predict.
Before you decide to buy, you need to know something about bitcoin and decide whether to buy it or not. Don't think that short-term bitcoins are going up a lot. What you need to do is have a long and patient hold.

When it's not too late, if you invest in stocks or gold, and then know the basics of BTC, you'll soon learn how to invest in BTC.

If the price is increasing, it's never too late. However, I don't recommend investing in bitcoin as it has aged poorly. One of the altcoin shall take over soon. Bitcoin won't die, but it will slowly become irrelevant as many altcoins are providing better technologies. This year, cryptocurrencies may be regulated and taxed, a huge portion of the market will die and only the unique altoins with relevant and promising future will remain. Take a look into privacy altcoins, it is a market that will always remain relevant. Research thoroughly before investing and diversify if you are not sure. Stay away from centralized privacy coins as they are not truly private.

I'm pretty new to this myself but what I think is clear is that there is still time to make money from this as long as you are prepared to look at it as a long term venture and not expect to make a fortune in just a few days.

No, it isn't. This is the similar time like in '92 for the internet. Blockchain will soon be the part of the mainstream technology.

Blockchain technology is so superior and applicable that cannot be avoided in future development.

I think it is not yet late for you to learn and to invest. It is a good thing that you learned and thinking of investing when bitcoin price  and altcoin price are not in their peak. Some people started learning about bitcoin when it was in it's ATH, and lost some of their money when it crashed just on the first quarter of the year. It is never to late and now is a good time to buy bitcoin because it will surely recover in time.

Bitcoin might not rise as fast as it did in 2017 but thankfully there are a lot of other coins and some of them are rising x10 or maybe more every day.
If you take your time and learn about the crypto market you can still make huge profit from altcoins. Just don't put money you can't afford to lose into it.

I believe with its current phase, it is still a  good time to buy Bitcoin. There are lots of prediction that bitcoin bullish phase had already started so before the price of Bitcoin goes really high, it is best to buy them at this price.  And as OP being beginner, it is not too late yet since we are still at the early stage of adoption.
