The best thing to do is to have blockchains app for every of your wallet don't use browser base wallet to send bitcoin as there a lot of malware's that can manipulate your browser and at the end you end up being scammed.
Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

I just got screwed out of 0.03 BTC because of a malware that changes any address you copy into the malware owner's address. It even used a vanity gen to make the two first characters of the address the same (I was sending to 1Gm..., so the malware created a 1Gm address).

1. Before sending, always check the first two and last two letters to make sure it is the same address you are copying!
2. If possible, check a random string in the middle and compare it! Even better.

Be vigilant, y'all!

Thanks for the advice. I admit sometimes I don't double check and I am a bit careless. But, I try to stay away from malicious websites in order to protect myself.

You have made a big mistake when downloading malware on your personal computer. This causes you to change your address when you make transactions. I think you should keep an eye on all that you do and do not download any software to your computer if you are not sure whether it is safe or not.

That can be avoided by following op's advise of double checking your addresses. It's not that difficult to do especially for something that deals with your money. And if you've been using the same address you should at least be aware of the first and the last 4 characters right? Always check.

Of course, it was always known to everyone that such a case could occur. You think that you are safe from everything, but in fact at any time of the day and night a virus can enter into our PC.
Where there is software and technology, there is virus. Viruses are dreadful no matter in which form they are. Clicking too much websites and opening things that are none of your concern, usually give passage to virus into your computer. There are many antiviruses that give strong protection to viruses but again there is no guarantee that all viruses would be combated by the antivirus you have installed. It is better to focus on preventions than going for cure.
