Unfortunately, reading the whitepaper usually does not mean anything. Projects rarely follow their plans, which they write about in their whitepapers. I've seen something like this more than once. Usually the truth there is about 20-40%

reading whitepapers is a great source of information for new people to the cryptospace, alot of these concepts seem very not needed sometimes I recommend you new folks to read Mybit whitepaper it will definetely open your eyes to a few pockets of the blockchains usage with certain sectors of the cryptosphere.

Whitepapers are all project details that will indirectly have an impact on our knowledge of the project. only a few people were able to read all the contents of the whitepaper because the content was too much, but some people were very happy with that sign that the project had good prospects going forward.

whitepaper can indeed be our benchmark in choosing a project but still cannot guarantee your success in choosing a good project, there are several more aspects that you must examine such as work partners and also the development team.

Very few people actually reads the whitepapers of projects they are getting into, not because the project is bad neither is it a factor of the quality of the whitepaper, rather it is because most whitepapers have been carefully constructed and making an investment decision based on only that piece of documents is as good as gambling.
I read only a few points in a whitepaper which is a part of the data I collect a bulk of.

Reading white paper is a must when you want to find a good project. For me a project without a white paper is a scam. Reading the white paper make you know the concept of project, road-map, business plan, development team and so on.

I enjoy reading white papers and im glad that some become graphically much nicer. they contain a lot of information, even if you are not a tech person, it should help you to understand the project. some have a separate tech paper for the real deep dive which could be handy...

As for me, i always take the research to the project i want to invest in. So the whitepapers is what i doing first. Because it would provide some necessary for the investors such as the team behind, the developing route, the technology, etc. You can have a general view of this kind of project. Then experience in their community is exactly what you should to after studying to figure out its good project or not.

Learning really has no boundaries and limits... it's subjective and an intrinsic quality. Not every one reads the white papers of various bounty projects, how we were all able to read every single white paper we come across, although it might be tedious but trust me it is worth reading it.
