Here's the official press release: https://presse.porsche.de/prod/presse_pag/PressResources.nsf/Content?ReadForm&languageversionid=833328

I think this is the type of news that tends to shut up crypto deniers. If the auto industry starts using blockchain tech, it's going to be huge. What do you guys think?
They are not the first to do so, I have heard of a different car brand that is accepting Bitcoin as a mode of payment and it seems like that was Lamborghini, can’t remember, but someone mentioned it in this forum. So Porsche is not the first to do that. There are also big stores where cars are being sold for cryptocurrencies (especially Bitcoin) and I have also seen a lot of people that bought cars using Bitcoin.

This could be good to the fame of cryptocurrencies. The only thing I would like to ask is how will they be keeping this moving as we know there are so many in competition. Though one thing is for certain which you are right about, it will create a trust and confidence for investors of cryptocurrencies.

Actually, this is good news for us. Right now, a lot of industries become aware about Blockchain and Cryptocurrency technology. I also see many ICO already doing this type of project, which combine between automotive industry and Blockchain technology. I can give an example DOVU https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/dovu/

I think this is a good development in the space like you said, it will be huge for such a big sector to use blockchain technology, as regard the price of crypto the development will help it to soar more people will also get to be exposed to blockchain technology through the  sector use of blochain tech.

I think Porche is not the first big company who uses blockchain technology. There are lots of companies who are also using this technology like the Toyota and Kodak. It is a good news that slowly the companies started trusting the blockchain.
Yeah, the use of blockchain is increasing pretty fast in most of the big companies in most especially the developed world. Normally, it is obviously by now that blockchain technology is the future and it is about time before we started seeing a lot of these big companies popping up actually to make use of this for a lot of greater benefit for the future. The earlier they started being part of the future, the better and that is one thing with innovation.

Many large corporations are keying into the blockchain technology not just Porsche. Forward thinking corporations know that digital currency is the future and early birds end up at the apex of the revolution. I expect more adoption of blockchain technology in the future.

Corporations are not interested in digital currency (cryptos or whatever) and don't care about it. A lot are "betting" on the blockchain technology with as a major reason: reducing the costs, which mean more profits, better ROI. One of the other reason is the security.

As for Porsche, I didn't remember what they did but I know they are not the only one, Not sure which one (Toyota?) jumping on the blockchain train as well

If blockchain technology is used by the automotive industry this might be great, with the existence of this system would be helpful to control the automotive database although it is currently under consideration but this will happen. Imagine if we can buy a famous car like a porsche, this will facilitate our payment, a fast payment process and this will save time for consumers in buying a car.

This is quite an achievement for the crypto community because if it will be implemented then this is going to much more near to realistic that crypto will be much more useful to our society. Also, the company definitely understand the blockhain technology and maybe they will make more research about it.

If this is the case, the company is going in the perfect direction. As you have stated, it would be easier for them to keep the records and track of the cars. Their cars could not be used for crimes or underworld purposes. If company goes successful with this step, this will further boost the trust of people into crypto currencies which is going to be helpful in terms of crypto currencies’ prices.

The problem is that we can create a blockchain technology without the presence of cryptpcurrency. The news only proves the worthiness of blockchain and not cryprocurrencies. Its just another application of blockchain technology.

There is nothing new with this, from time to time, we'll hear companies will be using block chain technology in order to help their businesses and also to appeal to the crypto community, however that doesn't mean that it is going to be accepted that easily, there will still be discussions for the improvement of their block chain, butnif they tend to do an ICO it is also be a different thing, the question then, when will be their airdrop, is it going to be a POS or a masternode, since we could easily get cars from them even without costing us that much, further studies should be done, and I doubt, if it will silence those who don't like crypto currency at all, since they will also have a valid argument.

Great news. I think in the future, every self-respecting company will implement crypto-technologyinto production and release its coins, which will represent their values and goals.
