All these pump and dump groups are very risky because I its the admin of the group that will first dump the coin at the expense of the group members. I participated in one last year, I bought the token at 85 sat each and it was quickly dumped to 12 sat.

Maybe they should start doing demerits on bitcointalk, than after a certain amount of demerits, we can get rid of posts like these.

AVOID any pump and dump group like the plague!

Let me explain to you how it works.  I get this information straight from a colleague who runs a pump and dump group.

The owner or owners of the group first buy up a lot of a coin that is priced low and has little volume BEFORE they announce what will be pumped.
They then list very small amounts in increasing price so there is a long list of sell orders.  This will guarantee that when people go to buy it those sell orders will fill quickly and the price will be forced up.
Realize, they do this all BEFORE announcing to the group.  And realize, that they have already bought a significant amount before announcing.

They give very short notice to the group, sometimes just minutes before the pump will take place, this creates a panic of sorts and causes people to not think clearly.
When it's announced, people scramble to get in on it, the price skyrockets, everyone's excited and happy then...

The owner dumps all of his coins on the group that he supposed to take care of.
This creates a wall of sorts that forces the selling price and: there you have it, you just got scammed.
