Las Vegas Strippers Accept Bitcoin via QR Tattoos

While Las Vegas strippers are not the representation some hoped for, they are an example of how bitcoin can help working women control their financial affairs and avoid potential problems with prudish banks.

Never would thought that this would become popular.
But on the other hand ,as the article mentions, it is logical- anonymous and almost instant.

I believe it could help other type of workers to earn some money without going trough pimps ( which as i have red is very popular thus women get trapped with almost no income in horrific environment) .

I would say it's quite an interesting move, since the general awareness in crypto is not at it's peak yet, Las Vegas strippers already figured out where the currency future leads to.

I hope for the girls that the private keys connected to these QR codes will never be compromised, lol. It's more like a publicity stunt overall, but it definitely helps them attract customers paying with Bitcoin, as the girl said.

I would definitely visit that club to see how I can get 'entertained' by the girls there, especially after a bull run to get myself excited and pumped once again. Great step forward for the male humanity!!!

On a more serious note, it's good to see that Bitcoin offers them an alternative, because the girls quite often face closure of their bank accounts, which is mind boggling and pure discrimination. Bitcoin welcomes everyone.

BSV is not the real Bcash. Bcash is the real Bcash.

I hope those tattoos are not permanent, because reusing addresses is a very bad practice, it enormously hurts privacy for all parties involved. Some investigator can go to this strip club, pretend to be a visitor and tip a stripper with BTC, save a photo of her QR code and then check all the addresses who tipped her earlier on blockchain - then he might try to analyze all those transaction to find the people behind them and see if he can blackmail them with this proof. And this is just a small example, there be a lot of other ways to use this information.

I was about to say the same. Beyond address reuse, it's also bad practice to publicly associate addresses with people. It makes it really easy to engage in privacy attacks (such as clustering) against them, which can reveal their blockchain activities and Bitcoin holdings.

Tattoos like this are also a terrible idea because they announce, "I have BTC! Rob me, please!"

People have also been studying biometric implants (Bitcoin wallets implanted under the skin). Really stupid at a time when people are getting kidnapped and maimed just because organized criminals know they have coins. Beware the $5 wrench attack!

...

I guess they will not have substantial Bitcoin holdings at any point in time,
because they will be eager to exchange their BTC donations to fiat money.

Nevertheless, an interesting publicity move. Las Vegas seems to be a hotspot
of BTC adoption anyway with the amount of Bitcoin ATMs that the city has.

Well, that's a pretty surprising news! But it's a good one, and I think the fact that Bitcoin is becoming so popular is a great projection for its community.

They clearly state in the article that the QR tattoos are temporary ones. Also I don't see how can you blackmail a person for going to a strip club and tipping a stripper since it's an absolutely legal thing to do.

What I disliked in the article is the statement that strippers are getting large amounts of cash. That is simply not true. Look at the stage floor, even in the video they provide, it's covered with one-dollar bills. Strippers never make big money, it's a known cliché that you can get rich by working in a strip club.

And one more thing. What's the problem if a certain bank denies you from having an account because you work in the adult entertainment industry? Can't you go to another bank?

I do like the news that Bitcoin will be accepted in yet another place but the article looks trashy to me.

There are a lot of ways how it may harm someone's reputation - some people visit strip clubs secretly and will get into a lot of trouble if their special others will find out, others might get shamed for it at work or by neighbors because some people believe that it's immoral for various reasons. Of course it all depends on the person and not everyone have to keep their visits private, but cryptocurrencies in general should be focused more on privacy, because privacy is a big part of financial sovereignty and security.

Of course tipping is legal. So it going to a strip club.
Sex is legal. Sex with a hot blonde that lives next door(if you got one, that is) is legal.
But try doing this while you're married:).

Nobody will ask for 10 years in jail if you get caught playing some weird BDSM games in your hotel room.
But I doubt it will make a good impression on your voters the next ellection.

This is when blackmailing is bought into play (lame pun, I know it).

Besides, as I remember in the US you have to declare tips received for taxes , with cash you can still do a bit of evasion, not that much when you have the balance tattooed on your skin.

Just wow. Lawmakers should really upgrade their game in terms of coming up with up-to-date laws, rules and regulations, considering all these innovation in the market. They cannot continually let these go unnoticed as people keep on finding ways to serve their comfort. I mean, who still needs cash if there is something as convenient as Bitcoin that is accepted in the market? More importantly, in this QR tattoo, how in the world can legislators get hold with this for purposes of taxation? See, sometimes snubbing an innovation, such as cryptos, can cause more damage than development to the norms. Like this one here, through QR tattoos, people can commit adultery/concubinage and evade taxes without being held liable under the law.

Startup guys from Silicon Valley usually do go to Vegas to spend their newfound riches. These dudes probably got the strippers into bitcoin. I say good thing for the strippers. Anything that can keep the cash flowing as fast as possible is a very welcome development indeed. Now I wish that other sectors would get in on the act too so that the tech will improve faster than the current pace it's in.

The future is now! Sounds like something straight out of Blade Runner or something. Pretty glad that more and more people are being more open to the concept of using cryptocurrencies in their businesses.
