I would like to let the community know that we have received multiple offers to be able to "buy a unit now". That is something we would consider if the offer price is relatively higher than the highest bid price, and if the number of units being purchased is no larger than a dozen units (we would like at least some units to remain in the public auction.)

Your calculations on theGenesisBlock (http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/a/44fc645248) have September as the start date. The auction ends October 1st. After changing the start date to October it shows losses or at worst break even (if you stop using it in May) even at 15 BTC and 55% difficulty increases.

I noted this as well -- seems a little dodgy. No doubt they've mined with these for a little bit and this auction will be their last bit of ROI.

This is a TGB flaw, see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=303376.msg3249572#msg3249572

When you set the date to October, TGB estimates an initial difficulty of 298M in the table, which is completely wrong: our auction ends in 2.5 days when difficulty will be the same as today: 149M.

Fair enough, I didn't read through the other thread entirely to see you had even already addressed this. You just made me a little happier in regard to other asics I ordered that should be arriving within the next week, because I had been going by October as the start date on that calculator. Wink

I see your point. This scenario also presents ROI, but KnC potentially shipping may also come into play... Who knows. They look like decent machines.

]what rate would you use?

If paying in USD, we will convert your bid's BTC amount to USD according to the current coinbase.com exchange rate +/-1% that we will announce publicly the moment the auction ends. The Coinbase exchange rate is usually very close to the CoinDesk Bitcoin Price Index: http://www.coindesk.com/price

Sjå https://bitmynt.no for veksling av bitcoin mot norske kroner.  Trygt, billig, raskt og enkelt sidan 2010.
I buy with EUR and other currencies at a fair market price when you want to sell.  See http://bitmynt.no/eurprice.pl
Warning: "Bitcoin" XT, Classic, Unlimited and the likes are scams. Don't use them, and don't listen to their shills.
