Looks like this finally got stickied.

At least this should greatly reduce the revenue of these scum coming from newbies.

Hopefully but highly unlikely ...... there is a sucker born every minute.

And about 100 of those join Bitcointalk every day. People just don't understand that you can't trust anyone and don't understand that sending them crypto first is trusting them. Like omg newbs this isn't PayPal and you're not buying a pair of socks off of eBay. Wtf are you thinking?

If you've been here long enough to read a few posts you should know that if someone has negative trust, an autobuy link and the thread is locked, it's an obvious scam. Even if there's no negative trust (yet) it's a very very obvious scam.

Are these the same people that would go an meet up with someone to buy a $50 iPhone on Craig's List? Lol. That will end well.

i never buy anything from newbie post.

This is generally the best practice that I would recommend to anyone and everyone on the forums.

I try not to purchase anything from Newbies, either, but there have been specialized cases that I have purchased products from them.

Because of their PM limit, as a newbie, I send them my email address so that I can conduct a conversation with them, and do my due diligence before committing to any kind of purchase. While I can comfortably say that the majority of Newbie-ranked sellers are here to simply pump a quick scam, there are a few legitimate sellers who are trying to build reputation the right way. Such as offering vouch products to build reputation.

Just be very weary when dealing with ANY Newbie seller on the forums.

I'm really glad that this post got stickied. Good job, EcuaMobi and forum fam.

I've edited OP to ask guests to register before browsing the marketplace or dealing here so that they can see other users' trust.
I still think trust should be shown to everyone, registered and non-registered users, but I hope this small warning helps a few people in the meantime.

YES! Finally we can have a thread about this. I've warned about such threads more than a year ago but it's only now that we get a sticky about this. Thank you OP and thanks to the mod team for working on allowing such a sticky.

It's available on the guy's profile page.

In any case it's the standard run of the mill newbie with locked self moderated thread.

This guy scammed me out of $20, struck up a conversation on skype, no Amazon gift card. Please catch his alts and remove the posts.

I found his post on google search, doesn't look good for the community, when this is how I found the site in the first place.  Message me if you need proof from skype conversation/ $ transfer etc.

I've tagged him almost a month ago and others left negative trust to him even 5 months ago. He's a known scammer

Sorry about that. I and others are trying to find his (and other scammers') alts. If you have any information on that let me know

I found his post on google search, doesn't look good for the community, when this is how I found the site in the first place
I agree. That's why I recommend everyone to register before dealing here and I've asked default trust to be shown to non registered users, among other options to solve this. I hope that will be implemented some day

Message me if you need proof from skype conversation/ $ transfer etc.
That's not necessary as he's already tagged as scammer. But you can create a thread about that with proper proof here using the format shown here.

My issue is I don't know why moderators allow the posts to stay up and get indexed by Google.  I assumed these threads would be removed, especially with fake alts giving him merits and vouching.

Because mods do not care and think we should be able to take care of ourselves which I totally DISAGREE with.

Wait, is this possible? Does Rocketr and Selly actually suspend or remove malicious stores' products/accounts?

Yes, simply report it with proof.  That proof can be scam reports, negative trust, explaining the locked/self modded threads, etc
