What is 0xBitcoin?
0xBitcoin (0xBTC) is an open source mineable ERC20 Token, meaning it's only obtainable through Proof of Work.

Abstract:
 0xBitcoin is the implementation of Bitcoin on the Ethereum blockchain using the EIP 918 Interface and is the first mineable, completely decentralized ERC20 token. The 0xBTC smart contract was initiated on Feb-06-2018 04:03:46 AM +UTC. This token utilizes the same SHA-256 Proof of Work Algorithm as the original Bitcoin created by Satoshi Nakamoto. It also bears the same difficulty adjustment every 1024 blocks, halving, eras, and max coin supply of Bitcoin, but with the speed and versatility of an ERC20 token on the Ethereum blockchain.


Purpose:
 The purpose of this project is to provide the Ethereum community with a tool.  This tool is the first truly Proof of Work mined token on Ethereum.  This tool is also the first decentralized payment mechanism on Ethereum besides Ether itself.  This is important because Ether is not designed to be a currency or to be a base pair.  It is designed to be the lifeblood for the Ethereum Network.  Ether is only a 'means to an end' for that purpose and would not exist if the Ethereum network could be secured without it. Therefore it is very important that the community looks to shift payments to a token that is 1) specifically designed for the purpose of payments and that 2) interacts with all standardized token services unlike Ether.

This mineable token was deployed this month as you can see on Etherscan.  We posted articles about it on this website a few weeks ago and on reddit.  Now the mining software and pool servers are improved to a state where the community feels comfortable with them.

  I also added the Discord link to the original post.  Please join us in there and many community members can help you configure your miner.  You can also learn a lot more by reading the github README for the mining software.  Feel free to fork it and/or build your own miner.

Since I love the idea of standardized ERC20 tokens but I hate the ICO distribution model, I developed a reference implementation for a standard Ethereum token that can be mined using Proof of Work via a smart contract.  This way, we can return to the days when a new blockchain asset is simply mined.  I also see this as more important as Ethereum moves away from Proof of Work and leaves a void for GPUs and mining rigs everywhere.  Instead of PoW mining ether itself, the tokens can be mined.

Also yes that is correct there is/was no premine.  There have been hundreds of users mining this from day 2.  On day 10 or 11 people started building their own closed source mining software and it got really hilarious/crazy.  Anyways it had been posted all over reddit and other websites and a community formed in discord!  Feel free to join.

Essentially, it has everything that gave BTC value in the first place, however now it is run on a faster and more secure and more decentralized network--Ethereum. 0xBitcoin is faster, more decentralized, can be used within smart contracts, and more versatile than BTC itself, all while keeping the features which inspired the original Bitcoin. Its community has dozens of miners and an active developer base working on mining pools and open source GPU miners for everyone to use.

given the fact that there are so many tokens under eth platform and with the same features as yours, run on a faster and more secure and more decentralized network, the challenge is the community that will patronize your services. without solid base, this will go nowhere so i believe that's one thing that you need to strategize.
