I think both is ok.
If you think that the project is really superb, they have great team, great community, then i think you should go for investing as well.
Otherwise just bounty is ok.

I am a cautious retiree and have limited extra fund that I could invest in crypto currencies, but I like to speculate on the crypto hoping that I would make big money some day. So I don't mind spending time and effort to sniff out prospective ICO projects, join their bounty campaign to get some free coins as initial investment. Anyway if the bounty I participated turned out good after ICO, I would also consider invest some of my fund on the coins.

making investment is risky thing. bounty is an opportunity to see how the company works. and you can make investment after the ico, furthermore, the prices for the token will be lower

both are good ways to earn money, yet even though they have different properties if unwanted things happen, as if the ICO project we invested in failed then investors will not lose if their money can come back but if the ICO is a scam then investors can lose money, while for the bounty hunter they will only lose valuable time to work if ico have problems.

According to me, both of them are good. I am doing bounty because bounty campaigns to earn bounty stake tokens as reward on helping ICO's or promoting and advertising new altcoins through wearing ICO signature or social media  such as Facebook, twitter, Linkedin, Telegraph and YouTube.

of course bounty  because my reasons is...
1. i haven't a modal for invest on ico or everything
2. bounty is free, so perfect to me because i'm a student
3. bounty give me jobs, umm.. like somethings to do in free time

Depends on the payment of a bounty, I sometimes do both invest money and time.

The best way is to invest in bounty campaigns! These work like this: You look at the bounty pool and the participants of the bounty campaign. WHen there is a high amount of bounty tokens, its a good sign to get the tokens or coins very cheap as soon as they got listed on the first exchange. THe most bounty hunter have no patience and dump their coins very fast before they even got listed on etherdelta. So thats the way how you can get the coins very cheap and without investing time.

These are two completely different options, if you have money, invest, having pre-selected a reliable project, if there is no money, do bounties. You can do this and that at the same time, only you need free time.
