Avalon Auction Account Registration
Welcome to the Avalon ASIC Chip Auction sign up process. Here we will take you through the steps of registering and identity verification so you can deposit Bitcoin and make your first bid.

First you will be asked to register with your name, address, mailing address, email address, and Bitcoin wallet address. Upon submission we’ll send you an email with a link to set up your password. This will sign you into your account where you will begin the identity verification process.

In order to verify your identity, we will ask you to upload images of a Government issued, photo ID along with a Proof of Address document. Submission of these two documents will begin the account verification process by our Personal Account Manager, which can take up to 72 hours. Once you receive notification, via e-mail, that your account has been approved, you may log in, deposit Bitcoin into your account, and place your first auction bid.

seriously? ID verification to BUY hardware?

It is to prevent shill bidding or deadbeats. Same thing goes for any major auction house such as Sothebys or Chrities.

He said he was going to auction off Gen 1.

I don't recall him saying anything about Gen 2 going up for auction.

"Next Generation Mining Hardware" is a pretty ambiguous technical specification. It's not clear whether this is the refunded 110nm chips or the new chips (which haven't been confirmed to be 55nm by Avalon, the last mention of this was a pre-announcement saying only that they had designed them)

Sounds like scam...there is nothing in newsletter about this.

**EDIT** okk  avalon-asics.com changed.

With that said there are people with batch #1, #2, #3, chip orders and Trade-ins that have still been left out to dry.

Yifu has about $2000-$2500 of my icarus assets now.

I pm'd him today no reply yet.

By the way, what is the point of selling off gen 2 chips if they haven't sold of gen 1 chips?

It wouldn't make much sense. The sale of Gen 2 chips before Gen 1 chips are "given away" would only depreciate the price of Gen 1 chips even further...

My best guess is that photo's of the gen 2 Avalons will show up as well as the sale of Gen 1 goes live (though to me that doesn't make much sense...either).

I also assume the 2 module Avalon (Gen 2) will be 3x to 7x more powerful (hashing wise) than the original modules at probably 2 watts per GH/s.

3 x 300Mh/s = 900 Mh/s
or
7 x 300Mh/s = 2.1 Gh/s

1 module has 10 x 8 = 80 chips (if I recall correctly)

So the new module should be anywhere from 72Gh/s to 168Gh/s.

========================

If so, then a 2 module Avalon should probably be anywhere from 144 Gh/s to 336 Gh/s.

A 3 module Avalon should probably be anywhere from 216 Gh/s to 504 Gh/s.

A 4 module Avalon should probably be anywhere from 288 Gh/s to 672 Gh/s.

No thanks. They had chips in hands and failed to deliver on time and sold them out from under those who had bought them. They basically screwed over the DIY designers and fabricators.

Just ignore them.

I will ignore them and I'm pretty sure, that lot of guys from this board do the same, BUT there will be always huge amount of guys outside this board + lot of naive guys/greedy, which still trust.

same situation like BFL, they fucked up thousands of guys and once they announce Monarch, preorders were sold in 2 days.

sad but greed is stronger then anything, in bitcoin world this valid twice more.

Avalon has scammed this community and screwed lots of pre-sale buyers who used to trust them. They refuse to compensate their default on the lead time promise. Anyone who is interested in doing business with Avalon, Yifu Guo, Ngzhang(张楠庚)should look at their trusting feedback first before make your decision:

The customer service of avalon is a disaster, but they do have a good sense of market pulse. This is the mining wild west, no laws, no customer protection, no guarantee, no fairness, no justice, only raw hash power racing Grin

I was one of the lucky few that received my order early and I'm even scared to send them any BTC.  I guess thats what happens when they screw so many people.
