$5K is a good amount to start investing. i suggest you split it and get a portion of BTC, a Bit of ETH,  WAVES and NEO then hold them for a while, i believe these coins will grow in value., You can also trade, just ensure you know the basics. make sure you know all there is to know about the coins before putting your money in crypto though

You can start trading since it is the most beneficial way to gain profit, for me. Of course there is no assurance that you will always make profit at first. I will suggest get a bit of everything although this also lessen your gains but it also lessen your risk. If I have that amount then I will go to coinmarketcap.com and pick the best new Altcoins that has a very nice project and promising that could pump in a few weeks or months and have the potential to be the next top altcoins.
