Hello. We’ve just released an updated version of HODLER wallet. Everyone who joined the tests of alpha release has been sent an email with detailed information and a download link for the new version. The current update is a major one, so you have to first delete the old version before installing the new one.  Before deleting the old version, remember to make a backup of your seed, so you can use it to restore your wallet in the new version. If you have any funds in your wallet, and you didn’t make a paper backup of the seed, you will lose access to your cryptocurrency.

We would like to thank you for your participation so far, all the comments and bug reports were extremely useful. We hope that this new version made in accordance with your suggestions will show you that you have real influence on improving the looks, performance and ease of use of HODLER wallet.

Recent strategic decisions:

1.   Our new website is already finished. It will be initially published in two language versions and we will successfully add more.

2.   The new website will be published after all ideas and improvements suggested by the community are implemented, and we can publish the complete source code of a fully functional wallet on GitHub. At the moment of revealing the 1.0 release of HODLER wallet we will be the ONLY fully Open Source multi-asset wallet in the world. We don’t need to explain how important this is in the cryptocurrency market. Nobody has to trust our honesty, everyone can verify it on their own by looking through the code and compiling the application by themselves. We believe that this will grant a massive boost to the popularity of our software. Remember that any wallet that can’t be compiled from an Open Source code must be considered a potentially vulnerable solution for the funds stored in it.

3.   New threads concerning free HODLER wallets will be published on bitcointalk and forum.bitcoin.pl, along with full source code and new website.

4.   Right after publishing all the materials listed above, we will start to promote our wallet wherever possible, and incentivize the community to popularize it where there is interest in our solutions.

5.   When our wallet starts to gain popularity, we will initiate a campaign offering positioning of cryptocurrencies within our wallet. The funds gained from selling the best positions will be accumulated, and upon reaching an amount equal to the one we acquired from the ICO (according to the USD value on the day of token purchase), the funds will be returned to the investors, under no additional conditions or requirements. It’s an entirely new approach of an ICO to its investors. We hope that other projects will follow in our steps and focus on commercializing their solutions instead of primitive “moon lambo” marketing. We hope that we can contribute to setting a new standard of quality for ICOs, and they stop being associated with scams on a massive scale.

6.   August is coming, and according to our Roadmap, in August we are obliged to fulfill a commitment of delivering all owners of at least 100.000 HDL tokens a working prototype of HODLER Hardware Wallet – a release of our application working with our original OS on a Samsung J3 2016. The OS itself still needs a lot of work, showing it in action at this point would be aimless since currently we focus on eliminating all unnecessary AOSP components. We are working to fulfill this commitment, just as all the others pledged to our investors during the ICO.

We have scheduled security tests of our wallet. They will consist of the following phases:

1. Pentesting node servers. Checking their vulnerability for attacks.

2. Tests of DDoS resiliency. Purchasing a DDoS attack on our own servers to stress test them.

3. Testing the security of a publicly exposed online wallet. It will have 20.000USD worth of cryptocurrency in it and will be connected to the Internet at all time. We will publish the external IP of a running wallet and announce that “if you can take this money – it’s yours”.

4. Testing in the event of an intercepted device and trying to extract private keys from it. The company conducting the tests wil receive a wallet without knowing the password to it.

The tests will start according to our roadmap, before the end of July.

The next update of our wallet, in addition to implementing SegWit support and HODLER Secure Backup, will also introduce a “Multiwallet” functionality: creating multiple wallet profiles, each with a new seed. It will enable separating the funds belonging to different people and sending cryptocurrency by email and sms. We will also enable importing private keys.

We are getting ready to send the promised free devices to our investors who purchased at least 100,000 HDL tokens. We are also assembling recording equipment to make instructional and promotional videos.

We have just added the functionality of restoring a wallet backup from an encrypted seed presented in QR form. You can backup the wallet by printing the QR code, but to recover it you will also need the password chosen while setting up your HODLER. The advantage of this method compared to a classic paper backup is that someone who finds the piece of paper or file with your seed cannot steal your funds. To decrypt the seed they would also need a password, that you can memorize or store safely in a location different than that of the printed, encrypted QR code seed. In this way, this feature can serve as a form of 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) required to access the seed. We hope that people involved in information security will appreciate the simplicity and increased safety provided by this functionality.

In a few days we will release a new version of HODLER wallet for testing, with new features:

- Encrypted Seed QR Code - the functionality described above
- HODLER Secure Backup - an archive encrypted with the wallet's password that can be stored anywhere or sent through email; it enables doing a backup with just 2 clicks, without the need to write down and confirm a long seed
- Multiwallet - the possibility to create multiple wallet profiles with independent private keys, seeds, backups and password; you can quickly switch wallets from the main screen
- New cryptocurrencies and new languages available
- Importing & exporting private keys of all cryptocurrencies supported by HODLER wallet

We can now officially announce that both the Android and Windows applications are ready to make openly available. Tomorrow everyone who subscribed to alpha tests will receive access to them, and if we don't receive critical reports until Friday, next weekend we will publish our new website with the download links to current versions of free HODLER software wallet. We will also start a new bitcointalk thread and publish the full source code of both Android and Windows applications on GitHub, making our wallet the only fully open source cryptocurrency multiwallet. For us it will mark an end to the first major stage, we will no longer be just a project, but a company with a real, openly available product.

Of course, finishing this first stage doesn't mean we will become complacent. Here are our plans for the coming weeks:
