From so few data points.... Wow. I'm good with over 200 real world data-points. I'll stick my corsair AX1200's or the new AX1200i using the stock modular cables against all these chintzy cheapy off-brand or on-brand PSU's any day. Not because I like Corsair or their PSU. This is solely based on running GPU and ASIC rigs using over 12 brands (lots of rebrands) of power supplies and adapters, etc. for well over two years. The only PSU that has never given me issues is the Corsair AX1200. I'm sure there are people out there who have had the same PSU die in a week. After over two years of service I'll buy and recommend nothing else. Give me your PSU model and I'll look at the 12V rails. I've had zero issues with SSB's Cubes. (Aside from USPS which doesn't count) Everything arrived in perfect working order and I'm melting power plugs keeping 4 of them running on one PSU. They run in High clock with no issues since I received them. I think the PSU and the delta 110CFM fans I mounted to the exhaust side of the cubes is helping a lot. There is no spec for the "max wattage" per 12V lead. If you can feel any noticeable heating of your 12V leads, you are already on the edge. No assurance that a good brand PS guarantees anything. My new 850W Corsair has been my least reliable. If you're building a world-class datacenter, you can do a statistical analysis, but for a desk-full of hardware, it's a mistake to draw conclusions from so few datapoints. Generic PCI-E splitters are light gauge and will overheat and/or fail. Most ATX PCI-E leads are longer than necessary, so if you can scrounge up the extra connectors (from other donor power supplies), you will get better performance if you shorten the leads to the minimum, and soldering together a pair of PCI-E cables for each Cube. Or, cut up a useless PCI-E splitter and solder that directly to the ATX supply PCI-E leads, making the splitter leads as short as possible (i.e. 3-5 cm) I got 1 cube as well from Canada . This is bad product. Clicking from time to time. Random resets, with clicking constantly noise, and second red light blinking. Everything was fine in the first 2 weeks, now even on low clock i got issues from time to time (hour to hour). my powersupply is fine 850 modular, good brand.
What is the max wattage or amperage per 12v lead on that PSU? Are you using two PCI-E leads or molex to PCI-E adapters? Have you done the standard troubleshooting steps? Is the silver label still on the front of the system fan?

1/5/13 I have tracking numbers for cubes. I will be shipping out orders already placed on Thursday the 9th and Friday the 10th. I will not be taking any new orders until existing orders are fulfilled. PMs from the last day or two will be answered sometime tomorrow. Numerous refunds have been issued on prior preorders. Other refunds are pending. Any replacement parts will ship once I receive inventory as well. Sorry about the delays. I was not able to ship cubes because I have not received them yet.

I jumped on the preorder for 8 units, but decided to cancel after the wait. SSB refunded no questions asked. Will continue to use him when I'm ready to buy more units.

I agree, excellent service and communication. I bought 12 cubes and 1 hub through SSB (will likely buy more in the future) and am very happy with the high level of service and attention provided throughout. Thanks again, SSB!

Just curious, but what do we do with units that have one faulty component (such as a mainboard)?

Just curious, but what do we do with units that have one faulty component (such as a mainboard)?
To date, I have not received any warranty units. However, I have taken cubes apart and shipped individual components for cubes that don't work(or even whole cubes). I have taken care of my customers and actually have lost money on the cubes to date. If you need an individual mini blade replaced or know for sure it is a bad mainboard, please pm me and I will take care of you. For anyone that has bought from other resellers, please contact them for any issues that may arise. I have received some of my cubes today and am in the process of sending out orders and replacement parts by this THURSDAY/FRIDAY. After this is done, I will announce on main page that sales are open and I will reopen this group buy. Thank you. SSB

I do not want a replacement now. You have shipped my products always on time and have been very helpful throughout too. You, as a re-seller shouldn't take losses for delivering us products on time.

For those who are running multiple cubes through a single instance of slush's proxy and your pool of choice has vardiff, beware that slush's proxy has a bug resulting in unsubmitted shares. Workaround: one instance of slush's proxy per cube. Each instance needs a unique --getwork-port. More info is over at Dogie's setup thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=352658.msg4371031#msg4371031
