I have only heared stories about people who were involved in such situations. During the game they were very excited, since the beginning of the gambling session they were winning a lot and enjoying the prizes, but at some point they started losing money, but didn't lose the confidence and kept playing, hoping to recover the losses and exit the house with some profit, but it didn't happen and I think everyone knows what happened next, similar to what OP described.

Such people are those who do not have any control on them self and just want to earn as much as possible rather than thinking that what they have won even they can easily lose out that amount too. But its a common mistake which many do it and then regret over it later.

Never happened to me yet as I never trusted those stupid casinos at all so never really visited one
Instead i sat a home and gambled online which has way lesser house edge and is fair enough
Regarding your experience yes I have experienced it but I totally deserve it as I was greedy and lost it all

I haven't experienced the "walk of shame" and I don't have any plan to experience it either, I will be very disappointed to myself if that will happen to me. The only thing I want to be addicted to is making life better that is why I already leave the gambling phase of my life because I know how it feels to lose the money you work hard for.

Did anyone here have experience a walk of shame (Walking home since you have a loss all your gambling money in just one snap)? Well, It did happen to me once and I'll never do that again. It was the bad year for me (Peek of my addiction), I normally left my atm/credit card at home if I were to visit a casino and have enough money wih some changes for my stay, food, drink and my fare. The first time it happens to me is when I was so frustrated because I can't win up to point I already spent my allocated money for my fare. I was devastated that I need to go home at 3 a.m. with no money literally and I haven't got a phone in me (which make it worst). Started walking from the casino going home it was the longest walk I ever made I pity myself and upon arriving at home my wife and my kids are already awake, I just can't bare to look at them. I don't even know what to say at that point. I just walk in shame, in front of my kids.

How about you, have experienced it? We all have different interpretation on "Walk of shame".
that sad experience for you i never been in that position because before i play gambling im putting my self limit how many money i can win and lose and when my limit hit i already stop every time i play gambling and im lucky that im not greedy person i can control my self. Smiley Smiley

Similar experiences I have experienced in the past. At that time I lost the money I was supposed to use to pay the bills. Forcefully and with embarrassment, I had to tell everything to my father in the hope that my father would give me the money to replace the money I had lost at gambling.

I never have this kind of experience.  I always make sure I have money for fare.  It is a sad thing that it happen to you but I am glad you are all safe after that long walk and realized that you made a mistake and never planned on doing that again.  Sometimes we have to experience something unusual to snap out of some bad habit.

in my opinion Walk of Shame is really feeling so embarrassed that you cannot function well and just thinking about what others think of you. I haven't experienced that but probably I have those times where I feel ashamed but I wasn't walking. LOL. Anyways we have those moments and we cannot stay too much in the past so we need to move on. What did your kids tell you or your wife?

The saying is likely a figure of speech and not really something that would result to you walking home due to the fact that you loss everything in gambling. The issue is that some gamblers just keep on gambling even without considering the negative effects of losing their money in gambling. This is really the shameful thing about it.

I haven't experience it personally. But I have someone very close to said he did and he literally cries on my shoulder that time because he gambles the money that he supposed to saved in the bank. I won't get into details because it sort of personal.

Anyways, Luckily although I'm addicted gambler I still have control to at least have cab fare on me or someone to pick me up if I ended up losing everything. hehehehe.

Yes, this can be interpreted as "Walk of Shame".

I feel regret but i do not experience "Walk of Shame" like what you experience because before i do gambling my self was decided what ever happens win or lose it will be ok for me also i learn how to limit my self on playing in gambling from the capital to how many games to play in a week to avoid addiction.

Before try to gamble, set your target first:

Do you ready for loss ? If not , do not gamble ( recommended )
Yes,I do than continue...

How much profit do you aim ?
How much loss do you can afford ?

Hopefully it will reduce your shame level because you feel no regret for losing !

Gamblers should really know how to set things up and control their emotions. This thing will never happen to me because I don't gamble much and I know how to control my greed. If you feel like that better to stop gambling because you knew already the feelings of being broke and even your family can be affected by those action, stop before its too late.

Yes i experienced that too i lost all my money even the allowance of my kids for their school. i am so a shame to my kids and to my partner because that time i am so desperate to gamble to win big. But its my fault because even the money for my kids are all lost in that day. That is why i decided to stop gambling for my family.

I experienced also this thing, I'm broke that time because all my money are gone for just an hour and to the point that I have to call for my friend to pick me up because of what happened. This is what happen when your greed takes you, from this experienced i learned to set things before I make decisions and don't ever let your emotion takes you.

I think the only time you will feel that you are in the "walk of shame" is when you take gambling seriously and you lost a lot of money, money that is not intended for gambling. Even if its not a big amount, if the money used is not for gambling and lost, gambler should be ashamed of himself. That gambler needs some counseling because I think that's addiction already.

In my case, I haven't experienced it yet because I play in moderation and I have control on the money I spend in gambling. I make sure that I do it for fun, for entertainment only. I don't gamble when I am stressed or I have problems, regardless if its personal or business because I might end up spending more than what I plan.

I have only heared stories about people who were involved in such situations. Such people are those who do not have any control on them self and just want to earn as much as possible rather than thinking that what they have won even they can easily lose out that amount too. But its a common mistake which many do it and then regret over it later.

Sometimes people need to learn things in a hard way before they realize how unreasonable their actions are. IMO,  I will feel guilty if I loss that significant amount in gambling like if we just think that with that amount we can buy food or things needed by our family. Of course, it's fine to gamble but we should put limit and know when to stop even you're losing nor winning, if it's time to quit the game then don't hesitate with it.

I got a terrible experienced in gambling, many years ago I liked to watch soccer and like to bet on it, it started with small amount, and it keep on increasing each time, at one point I lost in streak, I keep on double my betting amount to cover my first lost and in the fifth lost, I dont got any money left and I am in huge debt, I had to sell my phone and everything I got, and the worst part I need to borrow money from my parents to paid the debt, from that point I change my gambling habit, and I never bet in high amount

You have very sad and painful experience of walk of shame, Especially your sentence it has touched to my heart " I just walk in shame, in front of my kids"
I am speak-less because i have no words to share your pain. But it is really painful feeling which you have felt. But in my life i have no experience of it because i am not a gambler of real casinos. I play gambling usually on online gambling sites and i am opposite from you, because when i have big lose and feel frustrated then i go to outside and have a walk may this walk is full of shame.

I don't experience such terrible losing. Each time I gamble, I see to it that I left a few pennies in my wallet, just enough so I could reach home without a problem.

Probably my experience of losing after telling everyone proudly that the game was so easy to me and I could win easily. Then go home a loser. What a shame. From that time I don't really talk about what I'm going to do or where I'm going to bet, I feel embarrassed each time I remember that.
