Facebook’s decision to ban cryptocurrency and ICO related ads will have real implications for entrepreneurs seeking to launch token sales.

Facebook has already said that they will revisit this policy and that the initial version was intentionally broad, the idea being that the company will refine a more nuanced approach over time — yet another example of the incredible fluidity of the crypto world at the moment. Until then (and likely after), there’s a lot for blossoming ICO’s to consider.

Facebook haven’t ban ICO or crypto related projects. Facebook still advertising tons of it even in messenger so this is a validation that this news is fake or just FUDs. If in the future it would be implemented, yes it will have implications to token sales and marketing of new projects, but I don’t think it would be generalized and those proven only the scammy one be banned.

Facebook hasn`t ban anything. Now current ICO`s simply skip the word ICO, and still advertise as much as possible. You don`t even have to be creative - everyone is spamming, even in posts on walls.

That's true. So far, you'll notice how ICO advertisements are still prevalent in Facebook. I've also heard about this news a few months ago and I haven't seen any changes in the platform of Facebook. Maybe they did change their mind and decided not to push through with banning cryptocurrency advertisements or maybe, this is just really another form of satire. Either way, what matters is that the reputation of cryptocurrency is kept and preserved well. Hopefully what the people are seeing in Facebook's platform has genuine intentions and is not any form of scam.

I agree with other participants on this thread, surprisingly my facebook feed hasn't been much cleaner from shit ICOs than usual.
Have to say that after ban I was quite happy that there will be less ico spam in my feed, but this is not true at least for now.

I was also wondering how the so called ban has not affected social media campaigns in this forum, I am very sure Facebook is also considering the implications in terms how it will affect it's finances of course traffic will decrease considerably in the aftermath of the ban.

Totally agree, I heard that the things are totally like this, it's not so strict prohibition and just the word ICO is forbidden
