WOW, lucky I was rejected by MtGox, my utility bill was in Thai and they rejected my verification.
I was verified with BitStamp and have not had the slightest problem. BitStamp reply very quickly to any message you send. They are also cheaper.
It surprises me MtGox are still in business with all the horror stories you read.

If things will go such way - no privacy, no mining, bitcoin will die.

I had a small amount in Mt. Gox and I was able to withdraw in BTC without giving them my ID or anything.
Me too, but it was half year ago. I heard their Bitcoin policy changed, you need ID to even withdraw BTC (even though you never deposited USD)

Exactly. I only recently set up an account with Mt Gox. I sent scanned copies of my documents one one day and in less than 24 hours I was verified. After all of the negative stuff I had read about Gox prior to doing this, this quick verification process was a pleasant surprise.

It s stupid, i dont gave any name so i can send the id of who i want... I understand know why they are ddos all the time ...
BTC worth 10k USD is a lot of money. I advise you to simply verify with your own ID and a utility bill. Get out of MtGox and out of dodge immediately when you become verified. Honestly: I don't get why anyone expects to be able to send that kind of money back and worth without providing basic information about yourself. Banks require you to show some form of ID when you open an account. The same thing applies to stock brokers. I agree with this completely... 10k vs. not showing your id? just send proof and get your 10k, that seems like a very fair deal lol...

Hello,
U know why i started with btc? Cause i saw a video who explain my account cannot be frozen, and cause i hate banks.
But mtgox dont work with the spirit of btc.
Today i wanted to withdraw some btc from mtgox, and they say me my account is pending rewiew.
They ask me my ID and all.
I dont want to give them anything and i want my btc back. WTF, i dont change email, nothing special, why they do that?
I need some money now in emergency and they block me.
I have a LOT of money on this account. What can i do?
MtGox is famous for not letting people withdraw their money. Your best way would be buy back the BTC and transfer it to btc-e.com or coinbase....

The main point here should be that risking fiat or BTC at mt.gox right now is playing with fire.

This is a bad situation. I hate giving my documents to the exchanges. That's why I like BTCE!

mtgox is on the way out. they are only still used so much because before they were the biggest/only major exchange. now its so much hassle for everyone. not all their fault i dont think, the us gov. has cracked down on them. localbitcoins is the way to go now i think. just need to be careful for being scammed but its easy enough to avoid.

BTC-E is way more fun. No problems sending or receiving funds (so far). The troll-box alone is worth it for entertainment value. lol
