You would first need to buy some cryptocurrencies to participate in an ICO if only you don't have some.cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin or Ether.  The best way to purchase significant amounts of Bitcoin is through online exchanges. Transfer money from your bank account to your newly created account with a cryptocurrency exchange.Transfer your Coins from the Exchange to a Blockchain Wallet you Control. Then go to

Very good point which has not been mentioned yet I think. From what I saw you need ETH for your project which you need to buy first. After that is done, you can buy cultural coins with ETH. But you will find plenty of info on that on the website. If all fails though and you have questions, you should really opt for the Telegram chat - I think these are normally really good.

I am an absolute beginner in investing in Bitcoin and alternative Coins, but I found an ICO that sounds interesting for me. It's about the Cultural Coin, I guess one of the first cryptocurrencies here in Austria: https://www.culturalplaces.com

There are only 4 days left for Phase 1 of the ICO and I'm interested in participating. Do you have any advice and tips for me?
You should create Myetherwallet. After that you can invest fiat money from internet exchanges(find in google) to him, and from site sign up and send ETH to contract this project and get tokens.

I see your question has been well answered already by many before me. Just wanted to state the obvious(to myself at least) and mention for you to REALLY study the project ICO and take everything into consideration before you do try investing. Don't expect any ICO to be profitable(if that's what you are in it for). You want something you genuinely want to support and see thriving in the future thanks to your support, if it's supported massively and pulls through, you will see those financial gains as an added bonus thanks to increase of token/coin value. Hope this is helpful.

first, you must regesiter a whitelist in the ico website.
secoedly, you must buy some ether to send to the contribute address, and use a erc20 wallet to recevie the token.
At the end, you must wait the token list unlock and list on the exchange.   Smiley Smiley

I understand, they want to make a platform for travelers who study cultural objects. Why is there blockchain? Why can not do without it?

Each ICO has instructions well spelt out for the intending investors and it varies across projects. I suggest you read all about the project you want to invest in. You will see the acceptable cryptocurrencies to purchase the coin and the compatible wallets through which you can receive your coins. Please do proper check because there are scams.

If you have studied the project and have available funds - participate. I recommend to study the company of Luckchemy and take part in the token sale of the prospective project.

I agree, I wouldnt expect to make loads of money but rather feel like I want to support the project. Only put as much in as you feel entirely comfortable with.

I browsed through their whitepaper and from what I understood they want to offer crowdfunding solutions for artists and make ticketing for cultural institutions and events more transparent. And thats basically the concept of crypto in general, isnt it? Making transactions more transparent and getting rid of the middleman (institution). Not sure how exactly this would work though, I suppose they need quite a big list of institutions?

Not meant as advice, but I noticed too many new poeple diving right into ICo's. I know you want in early but make sure the ICO covers all of the criteria at least first. Make sure the team is real at least first. Where are they located? What is their coin useful for? I don't know about that Culture coin but it looks kinda cheap to me. Crappy website. And that kid is how old? Will they act like business men when they get those millions? I wouldn't go all in, that's for sure. I have a friend that invested in CDX. It looked legitimate. Now, it's over and they are a dead coind. No volume. He only invested a grand so he's not to upset becuase he also put 10 grand in substratum SUB ICO and you can see he's doing very well on that one.

To begin, you should buy some cryptos like ETC or BTC to change them for interested tokens. Of course, the main thing for successful activity is information. You should analyze different projects by yourself or buy info in some companies which wor in this sphere.

So I've read most of the post in this thread and as a beginner I have a question.
I understand that there are no guarantees that the coin is gonna be profitable after ICO and that the main thing to do before investing is to investigate everything about the project. Some even say that the main thing to look at is the whitepaper and if it's bad than you shouldn't invest.
My question is how do you know if whitepaper is good?

Why not read the instructions posted on the site of this ICO?  Just follow a link on the top of the participation form "Never participated in an ICO? Get Information here" -> https://www.culturalplaces.com/how-to-participate-in-the-ico/ and you will get answers on all possible questions:

1. Get your own Ethereum wallet, get Ether, see your address
2. Get whitelisted, unlock your Ethereum Wallet
3. Contrubute and receive Cultural Coins after ICO

I hate ico,it makes me sad when i lose my money

With 85% of ICOs returning absolutely nothing to investors except tears, I don't understand how anyone could possibly think taking part in an ICO at this point in time would be anything other than throwing their money away.

Check the date of the ICO.
Do proper due diligence/research.
Participate (some of them offer free tokens, so you might not need an initial investment).
Avoid the scammy ICOs !!!
Don't invest too much!

Good luck!
