Just want to remind everyone and the beginner and experienced traders / users about the danger of phishing sites. Before entering your passwords and personal keys, look carefully what is written in the address bar. Learn by heart the sites of exchanges. If there is one extra letter in the address bar or a dot or a double letter, this is a cloned site (scammers). It looks the same, everything is like on original site, only in the address bar an extra letter, a digit. Today I switched over the link to watch the course and got on a cloned site. Be careful always.

Easy, you can you metamask extension in your desktop browser so that you will be prompted when you are entering a website that metamask suspiciously detected as a potential scam, metamask will protect your private keys using decentralized exchanges such as etherdelta and forkdelta, encrypted the private keys inside the mask would give you less thing to worry when you are using a dex.

Yes. Be extra careful. Better to bookmark the sites you usually visit such as trading sites, mew and other online wallets. Never open sites from email also that asks personal information.

Already do that and my account still safe. Double check the address, never open account in public network and keep our device far a way from other person. Protect our account in many ways use only from transactions activity not for show off. Thank you.

This is true, metamask is really doing its job to secure our wallets whenever we are using decentralized exchanges and we will get notified if some site we are entering is a potential phishing sites,i loved the way metamask is protecting our keys from these hackers, phishing sites and keyloggers doesnt have any chance.

Use hardwallets and metamask extension so that these sites wont have any chance to steal your private keys.Do not trust any extension except metamask that is being recommended by the mew or myetherwallet.com these two are enough even those infected computers with malwares and viruses wont have any chance to the security of these hardwallets.

Yes with the boom of cryptos the phishing, stealing and fraud activities have also rose online, not only we see fake copies of famous websites, exchanges and wallets to get the login details of a user to steal his assets, but there are hundreds of fake admins also active on telegram trying to steal allthe eth from investors, so we need to be really vigilant to avoid any kind of scams out there.

While you can do that for coins you own, what about exchanges? If you have 2FA on then you are good, but if you don't I have heard of people getting scammed this way. Always put 2FA on wherever possible people!

Thanks for this information metamask help alot to avoid sites like this. Most of the things they do is to change L to capital letter I, which most of the time is difficult to detect. The best thing to do is to bookmark most of the frenquently visted site to avoid this phishing websites

I remember airdop of OmiseGO a year ago. I got a message from slack channel that cointained url to website. On this website I could checked how many OmiseGO I would get. There was a small problem. I just needed to enter my address with password! Many users lost their money that time.
So keep your keys in safe! and never ever send them to untrusted websites, applications or just... people.

In order not to fall for FISHINGS sites, I advise you to add all your main sites, wallets and exchanges in the bookmarks bar of your browser... I once almost fell for a phishing site www.myetherwaliet.com

I agree with you. You have to be very cautious in crypto. There are a lot of cunning cheaters. Make bookmarks in the browser in order not to get on the fraudulent site. And always check the website address.

Also install HTTPS everywhere browser plugin, it's widely available on most browsers. Before logging in on a web-wallet, look at your address bar if you see "HTTPS" it means that you're using a secure HTTP connection. It doesn't necessary mean that the website is legit, but it can give you a better indication. As SSL certificates are pretty expensive and not worth it for phishing websites. Also some certificates require a high level of inspection before they're distributed to a website, meaning that phishing websites could never get one.

Phishing sites wont be a big problem when you have installed metamask extension, good antivirus and malwarebytes could easily protect your private keys when you are trading using those decentralized exchanges, further more hardwallets like ledger and trezor could add some more security with your wallet so these are the basic things that you should have if you dont want your funds be stolen by these hackers.

Always put 2FA on wherever possible people! Well if you are using centralized exchanges you shouldnt be putting all of your money in any exchanges because they are more prone from hacking attacks, just like what fishermans do,they are putting those nets to where most of the fishes swam? so exchanges has a lot of users so they are the primarily targets of these attackers.

Yes,you must take extra caution when login in website.Always look for the web address and check if it's a correct one. Also, don't make account with same email and password with your another account, because it's if you register in some shady sites,it's more likely to get your account hacked.

I personally also experienced the same thing. When exposed to a phishing link all my coins are lost in the take by the irresponsible person. The phishing links are very similar to the original ones. You will not believe it is a phishing link and when you get exposed maybe your coins will not go away instantly. because they need a process for the transaction. I am exposed to a phishing link for my MEW wallet. It was very uncomfortable and very disappointing.
