Make a new wallet with different mnemonic/seed recovery is best idea, then send your bitcoin from old wallet to new wallet file. Also, keep the mnemonic/seed recovery secure next time.
It appears that many replies to my post suggest that I make a new wallet. OK, I shall make a new wallet with extended seed feature.
A question arises:
how do I avoid paying transaction fees when sending bitcoins from my old wallet to the new one? I find it ridiculous that I should pay the bitcoin network to transfer my own money from one wallet to another.
I don't see the point unless OP already memorize the current wallet seed,
Yes, I do remember my current wallet seed. I have it written on a piece of paper but one of my relatives has seen it. It means that my wallet may be compromised.
also it will make the wallet creation or restore a bit confusing for new users.
Well, if you show me the steps, I am willing to learn.
