I find that twitter has the quickest reaction to things, and reddit is a close second for me. Bitcointalk while it is good has a delayed reaction for the most part (I have found some scoops here first too), don't really use mainstream media sources on a daily basis.

Google everything.
When you find here, twitter, any screening site a coin that you are interested in, jump on Google
Read forums, reddit, other review sites, and most importantly, read the coins own website, understand business plan, token distribution, team etc.

There are many things that you should consider when it comes to data gathering for cryptomarket. As a starter, I would definitely check the ANN thread of a certain coin first here in BTCtalk. If they don't have any ANN thread, I always stay away from that certain coin. Second one is their official website. It should have all the details and if possible, all of the programmers and people that are responsible for its development. Also, I find it very useful to check additional information from their Telegram/Discord channel and see if the team is responsive there. This will enable you to gauge if they are willing to discuss things openly in a real-time manner. Lastly, Twitter. It will always have the fastest reaction and will mostly contain the sentiment of the general public.

Information is easily gathered nowadays because of the technology that we have right now. You just have to use it properly.  Wink

For bitcoin or in "cryptos" in general:

Hit that search bar on Google and type "Bitcoin News" and that's it.

For me, it's way more better to browse all news at different sources rather than sticking on one crypto news site that's why Google search is my preferred one. Search results will just take for only seconds so no such thing as waste of time here.

For altcoin/s:

It will depend on what the developers will told the people where to follow them like social media platforms, ANN threadd messaging app like Telegram or a simple newsletter that will be send directly to emails of those who will subscribed.

I check the Press Release of this community and try to understand what the current situation. Of course you need to go around as well and see and read the comments around.

As for twitter, I also follow a few personalities. Because sometimes most of them are just creating FUD or fake news. There's no other source better that this community. A lot of "experts and knowledgeable" persons around and I love reading all their comments and interpretations as to what is going on right now.

Google, after every FB or Twitter news I read. To check it is it true or not. Because everywhere is full of shills about one or another sh*tcoin.

You must check every information before use it for trading decision.

You really have to make sure if the news is legit by using social medias, and waiting for some confirmation because its too risky to just depend on one source only, so make sure you study it before you make decision.

There's coin desk and coin telegraph. This forum also helps in being  a reliable source but most of the time the news is just redirected to external links. Some people like to read r/btc in Reddit to be updated with bitcoin related news.
I personally think that you don't need to many sources, as they may confuse you and you won't figure out the correct news. It can be the other way around too. Fuck this shit. Just don't care about it.

The news about crypto currencies on all news sites is almost always the same. Can differ by the speed of appearance on the site. For this I just find the news necessary for me through Google search. But in order to follow the latest news from the projects I participate in, I use  Official website or page in twitter and facebook.

If you want a fast reaction the you should go for twitter, but don't forget that a lot of fud comes from there as well, so choose only official channels from trusted sources. I don't think it will help you much in terms of trading though because the only trusted sources would probably be devs, but the market doesn't react that much to development news, so it you do you no good in terms of trading opportunities.

I think the best approach is to go through every source of information (twitter, youtube, exclusive BTC news sites, reddit), and then combine all those sources to try to find out what is true and what isn't.

For me, I use social media like Instagram and Twitter. Social Media is very helpful at all to know the latest information because we will more often see that, especially instagram. And sometimes I looking for some news at https://www.ccn.com and at https://cointelegraph.com both are great for reference. Well, it's important to know the latest information. Especially if ready to start trading, it is very helpful at all.

most of my news comes from here or twitter . other sites like 4 chan and reddit seem to have a lot of shills , it is very hard to distinguish between someone genuine or a paid shill. reddit especially seems to shill a different coin every few days , most of the time some random ico or shitcoin.

Social media accounts like facebook and twitter would be the sites that I will scope some news or if I wanted to see an event then I would go to https://coinmarketcal.com/. I will go to coinmarketcap for the link of their official site and then find the latest happenings and see if they are active in their discord or telegram account. I am more convinced of a news or event that will happen if the admin of the group is responsive to the questions of the members. Although there are so many "when exchange", "when moon" in the chats, from time to time you can find someone who will ask about the project and if the admin is knowledgeable enough to answer it and not a  generic answer then I would trust the team more.

Yes, i agree we have the same information gathering to get a reliable cryptocurrency project or campaign. But the most comprehensive on getting the best bounty is in twitter campaign were many developers and project owner uses twitter site group to easily track the bounty hunters having previously joining campaign.

Myself. Everyone else in this whole news industry is garbage, you have to go through massive amounts of news in order to find the real stuff. You're going to have to vet any sort of claim that a news source makes, plus check their sources and studies and so on and so forth. You can't trust anyone with news these days, they're all corrupted for cash.

Do your own research into EVERYTHING.
