you should sit with yourself and write down the negative effects of gambling. Do not be like "What if I win next time, what if I get lucky next time." No, that is not you who is talking but your greed. Do not give yourself false hopes because "What if" is a term used to talk about unreal action in the past or the future. I agree with you, To quit gambling addiction, you should have a strong heart and you believe in yourself. That's true that is too hard, but if you have a faith to quit it and you have the initiative from your side, you can quit it. Self controling is too hard/easy for some gamblers, It depends how the gambler think and what is his goal from gambling.

Gambling addicts know that they are destroying their life by losing all those money but yet they still continue to gamble because they have a stupid notion that they are going to eventually win something big one day or another and with that they continue to lose everything.

For those who have lost everything in gambling suicide isn't a solution, it's just a way to avoid the reality and the responsibilities. These people should just start again from zero, building their patrimony again and stop gambling. I agree with OP's point, addicted ones weren't always addicted, and they should try being who they were before the problems start appearing on their lives. Back to the origins to find the answer for the soul's conflicts.

Its not easy to quit gambling, I have to agree that some people commit suicide because of this addiction but for me you cannot do this alone better to have someone that can be on your side in times like this. It takes time to do so, but if you really want to quit gambling you will start right now.

Guys, I know that many of you have already discussed this issue regarding quitting gambling as it is addictive, and I know that this thread is just like any other one. But forgive me because I am really sick of seeing people committing suicide because they are in big debts. I would like to speak my mind.

It’s hard for me to believe this. How many people have you seen committing suicide? 20?

For me, gambling addiction is a symptom of previous problems. Someone with a good life, with high self-esteem and without any psychological issues, doesn’t get addicted to gambling or whatever. To solve your gambling addiction, you have to solve the previous problems first, and then, quit gambling forever.

You might not believe it but it is happening already but the factors of stress will depends but most of them are committing suicide due to the stress because their wives and children are leaving them. And they don't know where to find money to pay their debt and the trendy part of being full of debt  without paying is being hunted which will sometimes get them killed.

Well, that's good for you if you are now free. Some people don't want to quit gambling, even if they are at the peak or they are down below. It's a self decision and I think it would take you some time if you want to quit because everyone is quitting and not really your decision.

When it comes to suicide, no, just because of debts someone would commit it. There should be a deeper reason, it must be as complicated as hell before someone would end his/her life.

Maybe there's a lot of them but its undocumented, they will be counted only as suicide due to personal problems or finances. Last June 2017 a known casino here in our country was attacked by a lone gun man. Burned the tables and took some chips, but unfortunately the law enforcers are quick to follow him and before the law enforcers cornered him, he burned himself to death. After a few days of investigation, it turned out that this guy owes a lot of money amounting to at least $150,000 USD.

There's ore of them out there, their stories are not sensationalized in the media or not picked up by the local broad sheet and maybe the family would rather not disclose the exact reason why one of their family member committed suicide and just declare due to depression.

If someone is seriously addicted to gambling then it is impossible to get out from themselves,the first victory from the addiction is they need to realize that they are addicted to gambling and it is just doind bad thing for me.If he realized that then he may consult the apporpriate persons to get out from it so what they need to do is realizing.

Anyway I have seen and heard a lot of news about people trying to win in gambling and it's just not easy because it would really be hard for you to overcome the odds with a rigged system in a way. You don't have an advantage over them but typically just thank you said you need to start with yourself and stop doing the things that would hurt you in the long run even though it's not gambling as long as it hurts you or something like that. It is sad to see people committing suicide but that's just how they sink and probably they don't have someone else for them so they think that's the solution and for all I know it is really hard to walk in their footsteps but just tell those people that you are there for them I think they could appreciate that.

Sucide are less it's only the people who are in huge debt and there is no solution as to how they will recover their funds or even be able to repay it
Normally as you said start your life from zero it isn't as easy as it sounds many quit but after a while start gambling because they feel there life incomplete and have a feeling their luck might have returned and finally start gambling again

Gambling is good and profitable if you know how to handle it, don't let gambling may control you, you must control if you are engaging gambling. Having a limitation to your self in gambling is a must to avoid that addiction, if you are going to lose that you set amount of money then quit don't get another from your pocket better you may come back in another day.
