Guys, I know that many of you have already discussed this issue regarding quitting gambling as it is addictive, and I know that this thread is just like any other one. But forgive me because I am really sick of seeing people committing suicide because they are in big debts. I would like to speak my mind.
All people have different minds like gambling for them are for fun or to earn big or this is for past time so i think the meaning of gambling are risk for fun, earn and past time,So better to prepare yourself in that situation and killing yourself by that is so unpredictable because there's no assurance in gambling but only a chance
Some people really do not see gambling as fun and this forum is enough to testify to that. Have you seen some questions being asked by some newbies looking for ways to make profit and more money from gambling ?

Some are always fond of looking for things in the wrong places, and as a result of that, while looking for those things, they always end up getting lost themselves which some of them ends up devitalized to the state of doing anything negative to their own selves.

People have different ways of coping with their everyday lives, so when someone gets addicted to something like gambling online; it would be hard for them to adjust another different lifestyle for example quit gambling. Most of these people addicted to it are a habitual pattern in their lives thus making it difficult for themselves to adjust.

Gambling is good if we play one time in day not to play on regular basis and it is good that people are gambling with the positive thinking while in our country gambling is not legal so here people do this over the counter and they play dice and cards while the open market is not allowing these activities so it should not like the addiction of this but for fun it is good while for gambler there should a enough amount you have to use in gambling so gambler are the expert of the gambling and by this way the gambling can be 100% successful job in other countries.

But forgive me because I am really sick of seeing people committing suicide because they are in big debts. I would like to speak my mind.

So, guys. Quitting gambling has to be done by quitting yourself. What I mean by that statement is that you should no longer be yourself or what you are. You are now a man of greed and addiction. Who was the person you were before you start gambling? Perhaps you were addicted to something else. Perhaps you were just a normal man living a normal life. Now you are a different person. What I want you to do is that you should be aware that gambling too much will make you lose yourself. Second off, you should sit with yourself and write down the negative effects of gambling. Do not be like "What if I win next time, what if I get lucky next time." No, that is not you who is talking but your greed. Do not give yourself false hopes because "What if" is a term used to talk about unreal action in the past or the future. You can neither change the past nor be accurate about what future will be like.

Then you should practice positive self-talk. Fill yourself with positiveness. Have a strong willpower and determination because believe me, once you are committed to something, you will attain it. If you want to give up gambling, then you can do it because other people and I gave it up.
I used to gamble a lot with my friends and I would be lying if I said I did not learn many things. But the negative effects overcame the positive ones. I took a decision to stop gambling. I filled my time with various activities. In time, I started to forget about gambling. It is like moving on. If you want to move on, get yourself from the routine you used to be in. Your brain is functioned about a certain routine. You will find it hard to adapt to the new routine, but believe me, in time you will get used to it.

I hope you guys achieve what you aspire. And I hope this thread will help you, even though I am sure I am going to get negative feedback. But it is okay, I am open to everything. Have a lovely day, Hadoooken!

I really like this post even if bit to long to read it's yet nice, he's actually taken time to discuss a very hot topic that many of us do not wish to discuss. I feel his emotions and he's absolutely right sucide is bad. To quit gambling one must quit himself is very true, and I really think the idea to infuse oneself with positivy will work wonders for the gambler. I'm sure many will be inspired by his words.
Indeed, the mate possesses a mind of a philosopher and a great leader. All of his words are true inspiration and can help a lot of people out there in quitting gambling. Gambling is very appealing and addictive game. Leaving gambling is easy to say but difficult to do. A strong will power is required to fight against such a strong desire. At the end of the day, it is the battle of the gambler alone and he must fight by himself.

But forgive me because I am really sick of seeing people committing suicide because they are in big debts. I would like to speak my mind.

It’s hard for me to believe this. How many people have you seen committing suicide? 20?

For me, gambling addiction is a symptom of previous problems. Someone with a good life, with high self-esteem and without any psychological issues, doesn’t get addicted to gambling or whatever. To solve your gambling addiction, you have to solve the previous problems first, and then, quit gambling forever.

I disagree. Even rich people who have a good life, with high-self esteem and without any psychological issues can get addicted to gambling. I think you do not have any idea on how addiction works. Not to mention, those factors that you mentioned contribute to their addiction in gambling since they have the means of engaging into such activity.

Engaging into gambling in a regular basis is bad, considering that you play at least once day and 7 times a week. I've been stressing out that the only way to cure your addiction is by knowing/determining your limits. One must have self-control over their addiction in order to outweigh it with your priorities as a respectable individual.

This is the sad truth and reality about life. There are gamblers who are can't take it anymore and they are the one who are volunteering to end up their life because they can't live any longer. They are haunted by their conscience and people who they are in debt. Also there are gamblers who are committing suicide that losing every single property that they accumulated with their hard work but gone immediately because of their addiction in gambling. I feel bad for those people, if there is someone that doesn't believe that this is happening, this is the truth.

I guess you have not heard of the depressive state some people always end up placing themselves to the point that they end up committing suicide once they feel like they have been dejected and rejected even though they have placed themselves in such situations.

This is not my first time of hearing such and in fact, it has happened to someone I know. It is a coward attitude, but I guess most times, we use our own hands to cause the predicaments that befall us anyway.

It's not as easy as you make it sound and I think your advice could even be harmful in some ways.
You make it sound way too easy, a real addict cannot quit by himself, he needs professional help. (In most cases)

Some addict is going to read this post and might think 'Oh finally, I can quit by myself just by having strong willpower and determination while also thinking positive'. Then he will fail and feel even worse than he did before.

The only advice I would give to an addicted gambler is: Go get professional help! Don't place that last bet and use the little money you still have to get therapy.
You're probably already in debt, so adding a little more debt to help you solve your addiction problem won't matter too much. And it'll save you money in the long run.

Being addictive to something especially if you can't control yourself is a big problem that some gamblers needed to overcome. We always read those stories that they loss their friends and family because of it as they didn't know what should be their priority. And I empathize to those loved ones by those gamblers that decided to end their own life.

I think the better way to prevent this is if they see their love ones addictive to gambling or in anything, immediately lend your hands and talk to them because somehow in their selves, they're becoming depressed. And depression leads to end their lives as they think nobody wants to hear their side. This isn't a normal situation so better to watch those signs of depression.

Honestly, it is not possible for someone to quit gambling in easy way, especially when he/she is addicted to it, and it's easy to think about an idea (to get away from gambling) but it is much harder to implement it in reality.

As well, I do not think that who addicted  on gambling does not want to get away from it, especially who lost a lot of money and has a lot of debt. But there is always a " deceptive optimism" .

Otherwise, many believe that the profit will be close from him, and all debt will disappear ( dreams) and the greed is always present in them.
So it is not easy for someone to control himself and particularly in the field of gambling.

If you can't control yourself then you should quit gambling, gambling is a very fun activity with chances to make money, that is the reasons a lot of people like to gamble and become addicted, there are ways to quit gambling addiction, but you need to have strong will to quit gambling and sometimes seeking a professional help will make the healing process become faster

It is much easier said than done, especially to those who has been highly dependent with the winnings gambling can give. I do agree with you that with optimism, a new perspective can be developed to turn away from gambling. However, sometimes it can really be hard for people as they don't have the courage to let go of gambling. Maybe if they have a new perspective and be open to actually stopping, then there's a chance that they could let it go but if they themselves are leaning more into it, then the chances are low. It takes more than optimism, but with the right attitude, things could easily be eased.

When it's too much, addiction is getting worst that can lead gamblers to commit suicide because of the stress that it gives with their everyday life. Imagining on how many losses you've made and you are feeling sorry about it. If you don't value your life, you will think of this crazy act and people nowadays are really different from the usual years that we've been living before. Yes because to leave gambling deliberately for me is very heavy, so let it stop by itself. There are times when we are saturated doing the same routine every day, but in gambling it can be left by itself.

How can you leave something like gambling by itself when it will pretty much consume you and your money if you don't don't fo something about it. You have to realize that change should come from you and that you should really want to quit if you have a chance of recovering from addiction

I always tell people this; and most especially for addicts who find it hard to quit something. Addiction is like being in a prison which you have been sentenced to life imprisonment and you only have two choices, it is either you stay and die there in the prison or you find a way to escape from the prison.

Also, the last time I checked, anyone who finally manages to escape a prison usually do one thing and that is to RUN and never look back and that is how to quit gambling. You may receive some help during the process, but a lot of the decision balls down on the individual and how ready he or she is.

I don't think that they can manage their time and life if they are playing gambling because it is hard to do that. once people playing gambling, I think they start to ruin their life and they cannot use their time for better things because they only thinking about how to win the games and much money in a short-time. but maybe this is not for all gambler and I think there is any gambler that could do this with easy.

I have personally never had any problem of any addiction in my life (lucky me so to speak) so I cant comment on that matter. But I have seen people whose lives have been ruined by gambling and also those families who have suffered because of bad habits of gamblers in their family. Those who gamble need to have a control over their habits and not let the emotional drive get the upper hand.

Suicide from gambling loss is something new to me. Never heard of such cases in my vicinity but yes emotional stress can lead to many bad outcomes. However its important to control it. Thats all that can be done.

They are valuing much their money but not their lives.  Undecided

In any kind of addiction there is that chance that they commit suicide. Not really because of the addiction but because there is pain and suffering within the person whenever they actually want to quit but generally can't because they cannot control their addiction. It may not be observable because we don't see it on the news or hear about it but it actually happens.

To quit gambling is indeed when you are really decided and ready to quit gambling in your own daily habits. To loss money is not good but it gives you lots of lesson to learn. And to quit yourself by losing of money is not a way for you to run away a kind of problem. And it's not a good idea for you to quit life.

People have different ways of coping with their everyday lives, so when someone gets addicted to something like gambling online; it would be hard for them to adjust another different lifestyle for example quit gambling. Most of these people addicted to it are a habitual pattern in their lives thus making it difficult for themselves to adjust.
We must go inside the basic reason for quitting gambling. Why anyone quit gambling? What are the reasons behind their quitting? Definitely if gambling would be a good source of earning, or a respectable game then why people asking them to leave? We must need to understand that this gambling is harmful for us. So if we know it now, why to waste our money furthermore. Quit as soon as possible.
