You don't need to quit yourself. Maybe you are playing just for fun but still addicted to it?

It's really easy to type that it's just a small change and anyone can easily get rid of addiction but the reality is you keep on gambling regardless of fun or for profit and slowly you start becoming financially unstable and after a while you lose it all

Even though someone play for fun and with small amount of money but small thing can change everything. Mood can not be stable from time to time. So, no matter how much money a person spend on gambling, the chance to get addicted is there.

you are right but as long as we can always manage our emotion and not attract to spend more money on gambling then I think we are fine. with a good handle of our emotion, we can know when we need to stop gambling so the chances to be an addicting person in gambling is small although it cannot disappear. at least, we can quit gambling in anytime we want because we can fully control yourself.

Base on my experience it is really hard to quit gambling specially when you are already used to it, before my parents will get mad at me becauase I forgot my responsibility as a mom also they sees me almost got broke because of being addicted in gambling. One day I realize to quit gambling and I really want to do it so by the help of my love ones and determination to change I now stop or quit in gambling .

In my own points of view, to quit gambling doesn't mean you quit yourself because we can find other alternate to gambling which we can make our life meaningful. We can set other kinds of habit to entertain ourselves.  Let's make our family the true and meaning of our life.

I think you missed the point of the OP of quiting yourself its only when you think to quit gambling with all your heart and mind so its the way to quit playing gambling. The things you have said is a big help to get out of gambling especially your attachment and time to spend witg your family it more than playing gambling with fun and if its for money there's another way of earning and not in gambling.

This is the hardest way to do, when we gambling we do not remember about anything other than focus on gambling, especially when experiencing defeat. It will not be good advice for someone who is gambling, gamblers will feel conscious if the rest of the money runs out. I guess all the gamblers will have the same properties against it.

You got it right, that the chance to get addicted is always there especially if we still got money in our pocket. Our emotions of excitement and feel of revenge due to losing streak will be the factor to fall into a bad position. This is why it is hard to quit in gambling due to it is very addictive and also enjoyable.

It is always going to be there are gambling itself actually have a way of trying to play with one's head into doing things wrong most of the time. The emotion is normal and it is left for each individual to at least find every means to make sure they are in control rather than being controlled.

You still can be a responsible family member while doing gambling it is all about having limits managing our daily life.But most of the people will fall entirely into gambling which results addiction so if you can't limit it then better stop it.

The falling entirely into become an addict is where the problem actually lies and the fact is that virtually everyone that just keeps gambling with what they could have used into doing something tangible and they still keep losing are actually their own problem. The one of hard thing is quite gambling. Yeah, it is tru that some people are playing for fun, but they also will addict for gambling. Some people count that they are gambling for fun but after they do huge profit they will automaticcaly addict to gambling. That's why I said very hard to quit gambling.

Right, I myself tried diverting my focus to other more important things, but still end up gambling. I can't even control myself sometimes.

I've seen some people give up their reputation and friendships due to gambling, I rarely hear people give up their life. These past months, I really focused on gambling, but you made me realize that gambling is really risky. Gambling should be played with moderation. It should be us the players who will play not gambling to player over us. Money that will be used to play should only be those that are excess funds or else it will drive the player not to quit until losses are fully recovered. As in the statement one needs to spend on gambling the excess funds that he has apart from his living expenses. This will not affect the living of respective users at any instance. You are absolutely right because we have other sources of Entertainment for free, we should not bother much about that the gambling which we left because it is always good to leave before we are losing fame and money. Once we are quit we have to find other sources of entertainment to manage ourselves not to bother about it again and again.

Yes, when they are gambling they won't bother about their family and their money. Completely insane about these i dont know how can they simply bother for gambling not for family. We have to be very careful when dealing with gambling by setting some limits for gambling.

I think when they are gambling, they don’t bother about their family but they do bother about their money because that is the only reason for which they have left their whole family and society as well and if that reason would also be thrown at the back, then gamblers existence would be in a little bit doubt. I think to quit gambling it means that we need to quit by playing gambling and we need to leave gambling although we can play gambling again on the other days. and if you think that your life is worth for just playing gambling in every day then you really need to quit gambling because you cannot enjoy your life and you will lose your money in the long-term. Good to hear your story and this is the story of every gambler. He doesn’t do anything except gambling which is bad. An addicted gambler has no respect in society and even in his family as you told that your parents got angry upon you just because of gambling. Of course when gambling was once part of our lives, the desire to do it again, even if we have stopped for a relatively long period of time, will reappear. But, with my personal experience, the memory of a past defeat that is so bitter can be a controller when the desire to gamble over limit begins to arise in the present days. I have seriously considered quitting gambling but if i did, a certain part of me would be missing.
This is because I have many friends who I go to the bar with to watch the games. 
If there was no gambling, it wouldnt be as fun to watch the games at the bar.
I dont know if to quit is to quit yourself but you will be like a much different person if gambling is not part of your every day life.
