yes, it is. Its a very successful already. As a proof, many ICO's  are under ETH and worth billions already in my opinion. ETH alone can survive as it has its own ecosystem within its platform. I hope they can rim down those scam ico's in their system and all is fine.

There is no such thing as safe in the crypto, ETH has a big chance to succeed but it does not guarantee a success.

Clearly, ethereum is really promising and has great ideologies and developers backing this coin up but if you go and try to come out of your small box, you will see that there are tons of sleeping giants out there that are very undervalued as of this day that really have great potential to become successful and give great profits to early supporters despite the number of sht coins flooding the market today. But the thing is, you just have to give a lot of effort into finding those undervalued giants before they shoot up.
