what kind of things do you insist a coin has before you put your money into it?

for me a GREAT TEAM, that keeps working on improving their project
not bazillions of coins ... 20m is the max supply I like to stick with

being listed on coinmaketcap also helps give some legitimacy to me
a scam coin / project will have a hard time getting the 'volume' they need to get listed, IMO

and an active community that is not complaining about everything.
if TONS of complaints, that's not a good sign to me  LOL

what do you look into before you invest in a project?

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

I think, I will choose a good team, if a good team, then this token will be better.
I usually choose to open source projects, because projects in open source projects typically generate several times as much revenue.

20m is the max supply I like to stick with

i agree with this part.
in fact i always have bitcoin as the coin which i compare others to. max supply of bitcoin is 21 million so the 20 mil you said is a good number. and the other thing that is very important is the way this supply is being distributed. again bitcoin as the goal, it had no premine, the block rewards were 50 and then halved every 4 years,...
premined altcoins are a big no for me.

While altcoin projects start  ICO and Bounty the most frequent comments in their Socials are GREAT (AMAZING, GORGEOUS) TEAM... Smiley
And NICE PROJECT of course. Smiley
So it's became meme.

yes totaly 20m big enough i do agree with that. what i look before investing is what kind of project and in what field they will be. there some field of businesses that i dont like and seems like it use to fail such as medical i didnt see any future of blockchain use in medical and i do think many ico are fail on this field.

Before i make investment into the projects, usually i search more about the products will is it used for costumers in the future? I search information about the experience of Dev team in the business related with the projects and the community of projects that be ready to addoption the coins on real projects and last the innovations digital coins with their real projects.

The team behind the project is one of the most important and the uniqueness and the use or main goal of the project must be considered too.

Good team is one best assets of a coin to know that this have a future, but ofcourse we must consider the white paper at the site of project itself because on that listed and indicated everything about the project.

And ofcourse the manager that will handles the campaign, sometimes the teams behind are copycat by the scammers and this is their expertise

A good team, because the team is behind all successful coins.Where investors and community can reach out and forward there concerns too. You can see if the team is good when they consistently active in social media mediums. They know how to reach out to people. And also, a good and informative website is a plus. I personally like reading whitepaper what the project is about. Its amazing to see a team working hard and put much effort on a project.
This will make the project a success.

I have a checklist:

  • Engaging whitepaper and roadmap
  • Advanced technologies, futuristic developments.
  • Low Supply
  • Continuous Active development team
  • Community size
  • Community engagement
  • Rare/unique features
  • Successful completion and following of roadmap consistently

I take all of these into account and look at these factors. If the coin has advanced and unique technologies, a great whitepaper and roadmap, the development team is constantly active meeting and exceeding their goals, and the community is massive behind it.... to me it is a good investment.

If a coin does not contain all of these features I do not bother. These are the keys to a successful coin.

This is the reason I have in My Opinion very few GOOD, STRONG altcoins that I hold, possibly 5-10 at most. I've bagged up on those, and hold tiny portions of say 15 other decent coins but again in my opinion they dont have ALL the features I've listed above, but i still see some potential in them. A long term hold of even a little amount could go a long way..

If you cant tell by my avatar and signature, the coin i've loaded up the most on is DeepOnion. The price is so hot right now im about to buy a ton more.  The technology behind deeponion make it not only the ultimate privacy coin, but the ultimate altcoin altogether. Not only native on TOR, they combine OBSF4 & MEEK, now with stealth addresses making payments 100% untraceable. They've even just upgraded their unique DeepVault file verification system to also be backed by the Bitcoin Blockchain too. Registration of files are now cheaper and even more immutable. The development team is ALWAYS releasing new updates and adding even MORE features!  I feel like almost everyday I wake up to hearing more good news about the future of the coin...Vote Central started amonth ago with great success. DeepSend is coming, along with zeroknowledge protocol and smart contracts. Hardware wallet compatibility...What more could you ask for.

Not only that the MASSIVE community is ALREADY helping to drive the future of of DeepOnion with Vote Central. The community forums have over 14,000 members and over 50K+ members between all mediums. With vote central any $Onion holder is free to make a proposal and if it gets enough votes it will be possibly added into the future of the coin. Again, I hold MANY coins... but going over my list... DeepOnion gets a Check++ on every section.

1) Good team. And good by my measures are experienced business people with a lot of connections and past projects.
2) Unique idea. Less competition. I don't care how good a project is, if it is a social media. There are way too many and the chances this is the new facebook are close to zero.
