Hello fellow crypto enthusiasts!

Yobit seems to be stealing ERC20 tokens systematically from it's depositors.

Their site does not support smart contracts. This means whenever an unsuspecting user deposits tokens from another exchange (most of which send via smart contracts), the money will be deposited to their account, but will never reach your wallet.

An example of such a transaction: https://etherscan.io/tx/0x69634a79e556800f716f6e339e7442c5317e57dcb70bef365e82611e000a6bcc

Each of these countless cases could easily be addressed if the staff manually credits your yobit wallet with the tokens.

Alas the support will not respond to tickets and is not reachable via any other communication channel.

Since I am far from alone with this issue, it is time for a class action lawsuit against the owner of the exchange.
We WILL be able to get our money back if we do this.

Tell me if you are up for the task.

Seeing as the owner was recently arrested in Russia it shouldn't be too hard to find him - but good luck with that.....

If you use known scam exchanges you should expect to get scammed.

Have they confirmed if he really owns yobit or is it still a guess?

and what is the current exchange that is not scam? I venture to say that 99% of exchange has serious problems of not answering support tickets, not being serious and educated with their clients and does not have physical office in real life and does not even have license to operate, if thesse exchange have any documents it must be something unimportant the kind of thing that anyone can handle and do not do periodic inspections.

You're correct slow death because the same sort of thing is currently happening in Japan and i wonder when crypto currency exchanges will stop this kind of habit cause it already affecting the market and the authorities all focus on crypto currency now.

and what is the current exchange that is not scam?

Any decentralized exchange:  Bisq, BarterDEX, Localbitcoins....

Centralized exchanges go against everything crypto stands for - that's why they are scams or soon to be scams.

Yobit is one of the worst crypto  exchanges ever known to man.  They do not answer support tickets, abysmal customer support and social media mangers. Scammers would be posting scams and scamming people with a cloned look-alike account of theirs on their official social media handles and you wouldn't see them make a single disclaimer disputing or dissociating themselves from that. Like someone already said here,  if you use a renown scam exchange for some reasons,  then expect to get scammed because a lot of people use these exchanges due to their ton of low volume garbage coins that can be easily pumped by them or at least participate in any pump that might come by.

That being said,  most exchanges actually warn users not to send tokens to addresses that do not support token when you open your wallet address for any coin on their platform. This is chiefly because more energy and/or resources might be committed trying to recover the tokens than the actual value of the token

I also got crewed by Yobit (check out the following topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2726811.20) and tought that I could make some sort of a legal action against them. The problem is that Yobit does not exist anywhere but on the net. It is not registered in Russia as a business subject. The domain data are protected by some shady regulations in Russia (on the account of being protective over the private persons). The domain authority is in Russia and Ukraine. Their website is hosted in USA (CloudFlare Inc.) and is most probably paid for over the acc in Cayman Islands or similar sources. If you are a US citizen, the FBI might help, but for the rest of us ... that is about it. I surely doubt that the Russian FSB will bother with it.

So, I could not find any firm correlation between Yobit and its owner(s) and therefore I got noone to suit or persuit.

If you have anything better info, I am here and I'm willing to participate.

I'm supporting this, but we need concrete action tell us where to start and how to succeed there's a lot of scam accusations about Yobit but until now they are still operating and they will scam many people in the future again so it need to be stopped.

but we need concrete action

I agree, but the problem is that we do not know who is the owner of the exchange and we do not have data of the location of the owner of the exchange and we do not know the address of the exchange. so this limits us, but the police have their recourse and can figure this out

tell us where to start

If you are robbed, then you must hire a lawyer and report your case to the police.

and how to succeed

being determined, not giving up hiring a lawyer and reporting the case to the police, imagine if most of the people who were robbed had hired a lawyer and reported the case to the police, probably today we would be talking about another subject, maybe it would be something like "the owner of Yobit was sanctioned by the court)

there's a lot of scam accusations about Yobit but until now they are still operating and they will scam many people in the future again so it need to be stopped.

there are people who have lost a lot of bitcoins and have not hired a lawyer and did not report the case to the police, and that only makes those exchange guys continue to ignore the rights of their clients because they know their clients will not report the case to the police and courts

I have avoided using Yobit since the day I saw an increasing numbers of members on this forum opening scam accusations threads against Yobit, if you are planning to take a lawsuit case against the owners of Yobit, I think the total legal fees on this lawsuit case might cost you a lot of money.

Actually on a simple research 10 respondent will make the research as valid. it should be similar to accusations that needs to be ban so that the disease will not be an apocalypse, i have seen many Scam accusations about Yobit. and This forum can have atleast 10 Plus proof and evidence that yobit is a scam exchange site and this should not be patronized again.

When yobit did the 10/1 reduction of LIZA, people lost millions of dollars. I had 640M LIZA(38 BTC) next day 64M(3 BTC) Yobit is a 100% scam. I will join any lawsuit, just let me know
