Found the answer myself.  For any others there is an option in the look and feel preferences of your profile to ignore others users avatars and signatures.    Rest easy eyes.  Much.. Much.. .better....

Thanks. I too was looking for this.

Theymos has just introduced a feature allowing to hide just selected signatures and not only all of them at once:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=294783.0

I think this is an useful feature. Much better than blocking all signatures; not all of them are aggresive and annoying.

Why would you want to block my amazing signature?!  Huh

Coinroll.it is really a good service! It's cool for gambling, but also very useful when demonstrating bitcoin transactions to newbies.

Because of the big fonts and aggresive colouring.

FWIW thanks to the change theymos made, BitcoinTalk++ will allow allows you to block signatures one by one

Own address: 19QkqAza7BHFTuoz9N8UQkryP4E9jHo4N3 - Pywallet support: 1AQDfx22pKGgXnUZFL1e4UKos3QqvRzNh5 - Bitcointalk++ script support: 1Pxeccscj1ygseTdSV1qUqQCanp2B2NMM2
Pywallet: instructions. Encrypted wallet support, export/import keys/addresses, backup wallets, export/import CSV data from/into wallet, merge wallets, delete/import addresses and transactions, recover altcoins sent to bitcoin addresses, sign/verify messages and files with Bitcoin addresses, recover deleted wallets, etc.

Given the strategy of some of the advertisers basing it on post count some people with the sigs are just rambling everywhere.  Perhaps better just to ignore the users altogether Smiley

Because your a sig whore.   And it looks like shit, and you will post lame shit just to ramp up your post count to get a piece of BTC pie.  Better to ignore the whole user.

Agreed.
When a user is posting shit just to increase their presence (& their revenue), it's best to ignore him completely.

I think we should consider eliminating signatures all together. Or at least ban advertising in signatures.
THe problem isnt so much the signatures themselves, they can be blocked,  its people creating a shitload of accounts and posting countless meaningless 1 or 2 line messages to bump up their activity level only to sell their signature space. It really lowers signal/noise ratio.

Start reporting the meaningless posts, if they're really just for post count then they'll be deleted.
