It would prevent the people from participating in some ICOs that just aims to scam people. Most of the advertisements also that I observed before the ban is that they are the ICOs that are like bitconnect. It is just HYIP again because they earn a specific amount of profit daily so if greediness strikes in people then they would surely join this kind of scheme. Facebook and Google just want to prevent something like this from happening because there are so many people who are in debt because of bitconnect. This is good because it would prevent the wrong impression of people towards cryptocurrency but for those who want to promote their ICO and are legit, they would reach lesser people.
Yeah there  are lots of ICO’s that their purpose is to scam that you can see in social media, because it has no control  anyone  can put advertisement in that websites, for my opinion how about if we will try provide a website that would only cater legitimate ICO's you cannot post if you are passing necessary requirements to validate you're legitimacy.

it twitter bans ads then it will be one of the biggest blows to crypto, Facebook hasn't necessarily banned the adverts completely, there are ICOs that are considered i legit that aren't allowed on Facebook. don't however be surprised if these social media platforms comes up with their own cryptos.

In general, it sucks, it will have a huge impact on crypto world, and it will have a lot of impact on ICOs especially, because they will have less chances of advertisment and they basically lived from advertisement

Share your views on why some social media want to ban advertisement on crypto related stuffs and what will happened if one day twitter also stop crypto advertisement as it is one of the most shared platform for crypto now.

I really think that the reason why some social media sites are banning advertisement of crypto is because of regulations. As you can see a lot of countries are starting to ban or regulate cryptocurrency because they see it as threat to people who are investing on it because of its risk in terms of unsecured investments.
Another reason is the atrocities committed with cryptocurrency which are much publicized than the good purposes. The good reasons of cryptocurrency should be publicised also by well meaning enthusiasts to overcome the challenges on the social media.  I believe the regulations will be relaxed with time.

They do not want to be a marketing arm of some scam ICO because it is now very rampant in the cryptocurrency industry and that huge marketing network just want to protect their reputation, so it's now up to legit ICO where they want their project to advertise but this is indeed bad for cryptocurrency

Yes, facebook and instagram was banned ICO advertising.
But I don't think that it will be insoluble problem for cryptoindusty
Still we are nit sure that facebook totally banned the ICO becuase there is still some facebook pages are available about ICOs and there are many ads also coming in facebook so still im confused about it.
Maybe it will not make a big impact but it will get impact on ICO sale because it is also main form of advertisement so if the ICO gets leans it will make effect in crypto currency field too.

Maybe that is another FUD for manipulating exchange rate.
However, I do not think that this will have a critical impact on the Crypto currency

Will ICO dev stop the project? ads is only part of introducing the project to mass. The most effective one is via forum and social media bounty. So the developers should be nice and fair share to bounty participants.

Its about time some of these annoying ads are remove. It takes time when trying to look for important information. Some decisions are not make to inflict pain rather to correct and protect. This is one of such decisions. When you login to facebook and see all manners of illegitimate projects advertising their ill product, you would be shocked upon review that these project holds nothing. They are just there for nothing to offer.

I think it's about regulations and some ICO scam at this moment. So, social media platform want to protect their client from these.
But, it may will be unban because we all know that facebook have a plan to create their own cryptocurrency

In last time more and more people consider the cryptocurrency as a threat, so they trying block any informations about this. But when it comes to twitter, I think that blocking currencies will not happen there

In such conditions, the bitcointalk platform will become very popular. If there is a demand for any service, there is always a proposal to provide this service. Let Google voluntarily renounce income. This money will go to the income of the owners of bitcointalk.I am more concerned that the pressure on the cryptocurrency community is increasing and there is no response.

All the social medias are only supporting in 10 percentage of consumers. But this forum is attract the 90 percentage of consumers so we have 90 it will reach 100 percentage soon. The current crypto market is lot of politics are occur in the market so these kind of issues are common in the digital market. I think this is temporary issue once Bitcoin is recover everything should be normal.

No,
This is not at all a bad news. Satoshi nakamoto didn't use Google AdWords or Facebook ad to promote Bitcoin. But nowadays many shit icos are using ad networks to advertise their programs. All these ICO programs would be stopped from gaining maximum exposure.

Blah blah

<To all the user replying to this thread>

After reading through all the above views did make me more knowledgeable on the social media view point, however currently in the bounty threads there are still quite an amount of bounty activities on social media if they are ban you think what will the ICO changes it strategy to posting at which platform or any other alternative instead of posting on social media.

I think this crypto ad banning is a good step by Social giants, as many people are still very much new to the cryptocurrencies and they don't read enough and invest their money. Probably it will reduce scams and frauds which are happening to the newcomers, hoping profit for their investments.
