Are cryptocurrencies a threat to google?

Are we going to see decentralized search engines, in which the goal is not revenue, like google, but the goal is to provide the user with the most accurate information?

I understand how this is really concerning to the crypto world, for it shows the ICOs, Cryptos, and Exchangers like something "underground" to the public. But, as I've read, the battle seems to be mostly against ICOs, for much of them was just scam. This is by the hand with US politics of persecution of fraudulent ICOs.
Well, let's analyze the panorama:
Google's statement says:  it will change its existing financial product restriction list in June this year, blacklisting ad content including but not limited to initial coin offerings (ICO), cryptocurrency exchanges, cryptocurrency wallets, and cryptocurrency trading advice (...) The restriction will apply both to Google's proprietary and affiliated advertisement platforms.
That's, initially, means:
- They are not going to accept Youtube videos related to the cryptoworld in any sense.
- They will not publish anymore adds about those topics.
- They said nothing about their search engine.

Ok, so they are not going to allow all that stuff in their financial products. But, what are they? What that's mean? Well, financial products can be anything related to finances, including banks, exchanges of "common money", etc. The last year google deleted more than 350.000  adds and canceled more than 7.000 Adworks accounts due to their infractions, related all of "making fast money" and this kind of pishing and stuff.
Now, they vaguely are talking about how they are going to do the same with cryptos. So, in "doing the same" they mean they are going to pursue all the "crypto financial products"? I don't think so. As the company has told, they say they are going to pursue the "speculative and no regulated" ones.
We all have been seeing how from the last months crypto coins are being regulated in so many countries. So, do you really think google is going to forbid publicity per equal to all crypto?

Now, if they demonetized YouTube videos and blogs dedicated to crypto, and forbid all the publicity about them it is going  to be serious, of course.
But, in my opinion, it is not going to happen. I think this is just about ICOs and spamming.
Do not forget one thing: Google makes millions in publicity. Millions. They, for sure, are not interesting on losing all the crypto world publicity is giving to them. Besides, when a statement of such an importance is launched in such vague terms, I never believe it.
Changes are going to happen, of course. But I don't believe they are going to be as severe as we all are afraid off today...

I think google almost has to do what the sec tells it to do about not advertising for misleading financial products. This is just a general extension of the rapid trend of ICOs being SEC regulated as securities issued by companies.

It is kind of strange and annoying when I see a google add for a project that I am almost entirely sure is a pyramid scheme. Some new coin that all it has to advertise is the fact it has masternodes will pop up on my screen about once a week. I do think this needs to stop. It isn't fair to people to advertise as if you were a legitimate company when you don't even have a working product yet and the risks of investing aren't clear to people who don't understand the crypto market.

No , the real google statement is not that. You're analyzing the article.

In addition, ads for the following will no longer be allowed to serve:
Binary options and synonymous products
Cryptocurrencies and related content (including but not limited to initial coin offerings, cryptocurrency exchanges, cryptocurrency wallets, and cryptocurrency trading advice)

Youtube videos are not paid ads. That qualifies as user generated content.
Nor will the search result s be affected in any way.

Do not forget one thing: Google makes millions in publicity. Millions. They, for sure, are not interesting on losing all the crypto world publicity is giving to them. Besides, when a statement of such an importance is launched in such vague terms, I never believe it.

It's not millions.

Quote
In 2017, Google's ad revenue amounted to almost 95.4 billion US dollars.
Those are billions, or 2/3 or the current value of all the bitcoins out there.
People that are deeply involved in crypto usually forget the real size of the global economy and the fact that crypts are still a tiny fraction of that.

If they have gone to the trouble of saying this in an official statement they will follow it to the end.
Probably they have played with the numbers long enough to realize that it is not going to affect them that much and the backslash from consumers that get tricked into scummy ICOs would be worse.

I think it will be difficult to implement, like it was in case of Facebook. It is difficult to control all ads.
Google is far better than Facebook when it comes to such things. But my friend, I think Google will never do this or at least it will leave some ads unblocked by its own free will. Business is not as simple as it appears and these giant tech companies will always promote technology. Bitcoin is a part of technology, a very beautiful invention rather. But even if we consider the worst case scenario, bitcoin will survive even if google makes such a foolish move.

in fact, this is not a foolish act, but an act that can at least reduce the often fraudulent acts of initial coin offering (ICO). Sure, we don't know clearly and definitely what google's purpose really is, but for Google, the users are a top priority that they have to think about. Not only does it provide features that can help with day-to-day work, but google should also protect it against any actions that could harm the users of the Google service itself so that the users in a prolonged stay comfortable using google.

Guys hi,

Did you hear about it?

In a post published Tuesday, the firm suggested that it will certainly change its existing monetary product restriction listing in June this year, blacklisting ad web content “including yet not limited to initial coin offerings (ICO), cryptocurrency exchanges, cryptocurrency purses, as well as cryptocurrency trading suggestions.”

“Such advertisements will not be allowed to serve,” the blog checks out. In addition, the restriction will relate to Google’s both proprietary as well as associated ad systems.

“We do not have a crystal ball to know what the future expects the market to cry out. But we have seen enough harm for consumers in this area, so we want to approach it with particular caution, “- said on Google.

The bitcoin price was largely unchanged after Google’s announcement.

source:http://icowatchers.co/google-will-ban-ico-and-crypto-advertisements/
This is a known thing for me that they are going to ban and I think here we have more clear about cryptourrency ads ban at Google platform that they will not take descion at sudden , they are going to do with few some time spend and after that they will do Thier work .
But here a worst thing that I see is that people are feeling something negative regarding this descion of Google that is forced by FBI , in actual they are going to trade for the bitcoin trading and ICO only and another will still run .
So here we should not take it in negative ways and use this thing in positive way that not much scam will happen in future and we will get guinine things in this field .
So don't Panic with this news and don't sell coins that you hold , hold them for the perfect profit in soon coming time .

Guys, even if we can admit that it happens, why don't you think about the other search systems? Finally, our Forum is the best source for getting all the information concerning Bitcoins, altcoins and ICOs.

Well, this forum also suggest google search if you want to search for articles.

Google search is recommended. It is often more accurate, and searches through the forum's own search engine are rate-limited. Note that Google does not search non-public sections (eg. Investigations).

So.... ironic...isn't it?
