Hello folks,

Is there a way to check if someone is banned? I'm reporting some ICO pumpers but I don't know if they are already banned.
Don't want to waste time on already reported accounts.
TY.

Not really. I asked for a Banned rank quite a long time ago. Theymos does not seem to want to help users track down ban evaders and whatnot.

BPIP parses the modlog and keeps track on who has been autobanned and nuked, as well as how many threads/replies have been deleted.

example:
http://dev.martinlawrence.ca/bpip/profile.aspx?p=Ido_Liberdy

I just have the most recent info in there, but a friend is sending me some historical data I hope to populate this week.

I think their rank should turn to Banned or something if not shown to everyone then at least Staff. There's a banned notice available to staff on people's profiles but it being under their username as well would be helpful. Sometimes I go through certain threads that have been abused by copy and paste bots en mass like the Vietnamese one looking for accounts that have been missed and it's tedious just to click on their profiles just to see they've already been banned. Has theymos given a reason why he doesn't want this info public?

Even different color of the username, like red or grey, can be indicators that the use is banned. New rank "banner" or something can ge great too but I believe that just a simple name color change is the easiest and somewhat the best.

Need some spare btc for a new PC that can at least run Adobe Dreamweaver.

Thank you people, it will be really useful to have something like this.

Maybe it can be noted on the trust page (or elsewhere) as a neutral comment when and why the account was temporary/permanent banned. This will be very helpful to be able to browse the history of someone.

I guess those trading accounts now can easily fool people to buy banned account, because you can't check it.

Anyway, I'll just keep reporting them as I do now.. poor Mods I can almost feel their struggle..

@Vod  I will go through your link as soon as I get back on my PC.

Thanks again,  I think we are winning the war against the spam, finally Smiley

Thanks for this that is very useful. I think I found a small bug with usernames starting with numbers.

Thanks to Vod now I can search for similar names, when I find a ico pumper.
But what to do with those single post account which are all-over the place?  I guess they are bot-generated and they won't be used anymore, just piling up.

You are probably right.

I track active users of this forum (inactive have no sign on for 90 days, no posts and no trust) and over the past week that number has been steadily going down... :/

I had made a list of banned accounts previously over here

It is no longer relevant because Vod's site collates the data in automated way, but you can find old information there.  Smiley

Since I already opened this thread and I don't want to bump old threads I'll just post some here.
I guess there are many like me, wondering why there are no ban indications, here is a good read regarding about the ban status and /maybe/ all the pros and cons.
I suggest to read troughs all the comments to build your own opinion based on facts.

[Interest Check] - User Rank 'Banned'
I just wonder why theymos did not gave any opinion there.

Many things that and seems logical at first are missing here, but reading deeper along the posts you find interesting reasons why those are not implemented. You can find many "flaws" and you think "why the hell this is not done yet for so many years?" but then you look deeper you find a reasons you never thought about because you forget the idea behind the bitcoin, the anonymity and right of freedom of every individual.
This is not an ordinary forum.

Lets move on to the other interesting read, this is rather long one, so everyone can browse for a while, but you can find quite interesting info there too.

Account farming. Allowed?

I'm sure there are more interesting reads but this is what I found for now.

This is really useful list you have done. I just admire your effort.

This is a good news, and is what we are trying to achieve. Your site is one of the best tools for fighting the spammers, thanks for sharing.
