the future of bitcoin depends more on its performance of it in the future. and its utility and its adoption and all that. today it may perform good or terrible and still have a much better future when the time comes.

That is my expectations too I expect the price to move so high in 2018 that I have told many of my friends to invest in bitcoin and cryptocurrency but many of them are currently regretting and find it difficult to believe in what I have told them.  I hope the situation changes in no time and we have improved situation as the coins keep on dashing people hope.

I am also with you guys on this. I was selling my btc for fiat regularly and stopped doing so when it wen't up to about $17k. Thus, now I have quite some money in btc, but with the current price it is a huge loss for me. I believe in bitcoin and that it will manage to overcome all kinds of stupid news. We'll see it great again and those people who are now selling and thus losing money will regret it when everything goes back to normal.
It is very pleasant to see that most of people in this thread are expecting positive outcome. I truly believe that it increases the chances of it really ending up being so.

What is your bet with it's current performance? We are in the present time so everything that determines bitcoin's future is base on it's current state.

Bitcoin will never let us down, this might be the earliest corrections that we have seen but I know that it won't be on that phasing for the rest of our lives.

Yeah that's true, the current performance will determine how far are we going to have bitcoin in the future. The developer has still have time to adjust or to have innovative ideas to grow more as we move to next level. This year seems to be a downfall of bitcoin as a correction to a unexpected bull run of year 2017 that the price needs to align with the correct value of bitcoin which I think last year price was a results of too much pumping. Although this correction is a normal in crypto which will surely bounce back in due time. Also I expect this to have a bull run by third quarter of this year. So, I'm holding for the best.

Absolutely true it depends on the current scenario so definitely it will going to moon. I think this year it will raise in June to December but monthly once one fluctuation is possible in the Bitcoin this is my prediction. But some other experts are predict the different possibilities so I am still research the future possibilities of Bitcoin and crypto platform.

Yes I agree. In late 2017 bitcoin price rose very much. It is normal that the price is falling now. There are many people cashing out their profit.
There are also some bad news thee days. And that is normal too. I personally accustomed to hear bad news all at the same time and then good news all at the same time.

Do not 'expect' the best because that's when you will become negligent in your decisions. Carefully consider things and make the best decision you can. I believe the market will recover but if I didn't I would not hold out of blind faith.

This. I think that people should focus on the tech and fundamentals and stop worrying about price fluctuations. The price is the only thing no one (or most people) don't have control over.

Exactly. As the great Dalai Lama once said “If there is no solution to the problem then don't waste time worrying about it. If there is a solution to the problem then don't waste time worrying about it.” In the case of bitcoin price, there's nothing we can do to change that so why waste our time and energy worrying about it. We would be better off putting that time and energy towards other things such as improving our understanding of bitcoin or contributing to its success.

This applies to coins that are considered shitcoins or that roadmap and teams are not consistent, trade some and still keep some that are worthy.

It applies to shitcoins and quality coins alike. You should never invest in anything without careful consideration and understanding.

I believe this year will reach the maximum number, this situation will make the bitcoin ready to take off to the expected number. IMO in June until the end of the year will be the greatest time for BITCOIN.

That was not at all my intention. I believe strongly in bitcoin, I was just encouraging people to invest because they have a belief that is founded on something instead of just because there's a chance that the price can increase and they are hopeful.

Yes,I hope the bitcoin will repeat the same performance like how the price bumped in 2017.But many new investors don't have that calmness they will get frustrated while the price is falling and then sell their coins for lose.So the people who want to earn money they need to buy now and sell them when the price is high.

The first quarter of this year is moving in the way I thought it will move the biggest discrepancy with my expectations is how big the dip has been I did not thought that we will get to see bitcoin at 6k again, and then I thought that the recovery will be faster but that has not happened in fact the price is going down again, so it's difficult to think that 2018 is going to be as good as 2017.

Although we can say that history repeats itself so there is a positive notion that 2018 would be the same of 2017 but we can see that some people are not that positive anymore because negative news is spreading again. I know that we should support bitcoin and not be affected by the bad news but then somehow doubts are inevitable. We know that there will be a light at the end of the tunnel but some people are impatient because they are used to seeing the price having parabolic move. Besides that, we are still on the 1st quarter of 2018 so maybe there will be a turn around in the next quarter.

I totally agree the year is just getting started I guess it is just normal that we're experiencing a dip right now but nearly at the end of the year I am sure it will bounce back and overtake the ath price of bitcoin. Well who knows just expect the unexpected and possible case scenario.

I strongly believe that Bitcoin market value and ethereum will return to bullish movement despite the fact that they are currently witnessing a decline movement as a result of FUD and panic sell by some people who couldn't hold their Bitcoin and other altcoins. And equally believe in the Top Lee prediction of Bitcoin value reaching  $91,000 before end of December 2018.

If you expect 2018 to be same as 2017 you will be greatly disappointed.   I would een think you are out of your mind. If history teach you anything you will see that only in 2013 happened two spikes close together. But second was apparently self made by MtGox.    Bitcoin moves in cycles and they cant skip time forward.

Bitcoin is becoming too week infront of rumors even the smallest rumors can affect its price.
Holding is the key, but how can we convince everyone to hold and stop panicking!

Believing in Bitcoin isn't a problem if it's related to its technical abilities and long term performance. If your believe is purely based on the market, then your believe will be as volatile as the market is, and that's never a good thing. This forum has been a perfect example of how people's believe is based on the market only. If the price is going up for a while, everyone gets hyped up and speculate about insane levels. If the price is going down for a while, just like what we experience with current market, then people speculate about insanely levels too, but then more towards $2000-$3000 as being the next bottom. My advice is to take distance from the short term fluctuations, and focus on what the long term has to offer. If you have a loss on paper, just keep holding and don't even think about selling. If you don't yet feel comfortable to enter the market, then wait for the 'storm' to fade, and then enter. Negative aspect of the latter option is that you miss out on buying at the lowest possible levels.

come what may...because we can not tell what may happened next..all we have to do now is continue to support and be patient... don't panic... bitcoin always recover ..the situation now is not the first time but as you can see it always bounce back..in a business it is normal that  after a big boom,,slowly it goes down and it is our responsibility to work hard also, so as not to go down totally.
