I  believe since January, the confidence in the Cryptocurrency Markets has just gone down and out. Bitcoin recovered a little bit but then it was pushed down again, so leaving no room for optimism anymore. Yes there is still trading of cryptocurrencies and some pump and dumps going on by organized groups who want to take all the profit, but for the Average Joe, the Bitcoin gold rush as it were is well and truly now in the history books, no longer in effect. That's one part of the story you've mentioned. When a person or an organization sells so much bitcoins in the open market, it increased the supply in the market while the demand stays same. So it creates a disparity in the demand supply chain and pushing the price down.

The second reason is the google's ban on the crypto currency advertising. Google has declared that they will not advertise any crypto currency related matter in their advertising platform. Now Google is the biggest giant in the advertising market and a major percentage of the crypto currency advertising is done through this platform. That triggered a panic among the market.

Due to this two reasons, the entire crypto currency market is going down to red. MtGox is probably the reason, I read that they are selling larger amounts of bitcoins for some time.
Google will ban paid adds in June, it doesn't explain price drop now and I don't think this should affect price.
