ICOs generally sell "private presales" for 1/2 the price of what their PUBLIC ICO ( VBK @bittrex in this case) sells for for MONTHS before the public ICO
the devs have been working on this for months, who knows how many private deals they have made selling coins (all within their right)
this is normal practice, how they fund their product is their business

hodl for 6-12 months, maybe more, if the product is good, you will get your profits, one day

I think exchanges are getting a lot of free tokens from projects for such IEO ans listing them. And they are selling this tokens at any price, as for them this is 100% profit at any price, as tokens were free.

Final TestNet Block Height = 472000 (projected March 3rd)
MainNet Launch Date = Monday, March 25 at 10:00 AM ET (updated from March 15)

In addition to an OTC, VeriBlock will also offer an Initial Exchange Offering (IEO) via Bittrex (more details to be announced).
The date of the IEO will be announced by Bittrex. It will be after the launch on the 25th.

TestNet Sunset balances reflected on MainNet
All TestNet balances up to block 472,000 (accrued through Mining Sunrise, High Noon, and Sunset) will be doubled, reflected 1: 2.

A balance of 1000 on TestNet Sunset will be reflected as 2000 on MainNet.

You have made a wise choice and really the investors in this project are all bored by what the project is doing. They don't even have any new exchanges and are actually trying to make money from investors. Bittrex may be considered a safe exchange but for me this is just a shit exchange and finding ways to make money from investors and they have no impact on the proposed IEO projects.

A project can have a future if it is supported by other projects to protect against 51% attack. At moment I see only spam mempool BTC. Most recently I have seen almost 40% of transactions in  bitcoin network from pop vbk.
