Hi ngocminh, nice to have a Vienamese ask about mining here. To turn of window 10 update, you go step by step as following:

• In RUN type “services.msc“, the services page will be open
• Search for “Windows Update“
• Click “Stop” if status is “Live” or “Checking/Running“
• Select “Disabled” on “Startup type“
• Apply & Restart
• Do it again and make sure that it is disabled
• Also if you want you can disable more services..

Also, visit this thread for more references: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3034586.0

If you have a windows update assistant installed on your desktop you may want to make a rule to block this app. I have encountered this type of problem on my win10. What I did was I made a rule on my firewall to block incoming and outgoing bandwidth for windows update assistant. This video really helped me a lot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5efeXjLYz8c

Also try to disable auto update on windows 10 app store.

Store>>Account>>>Setting>>App Updates.

This is old info and no longer works with newer builds of Windows 10. The fall 2017 build and newer will simply re-enable the service after a few days or a reboot. There currently is no easy way to stop windows 10 from updating itself. It requires registry hacks and I've only successfully been able to stop it on one rig, but I don't know which of the 100 changes I made actually did it.

Sorry if it doesnt help. Most of my rigs are using Window 10 version 1603 and I set like that, so far so good. Typically, I let miner's program start with Window (create a shortcut of miner then put it in startup folder - typing this in search bar "shell: startup"), so if it updates, I think no problem. But as I remember, I did the same thing on a new rig which is running in version 1709 Fall Creator, it works. I rechecked with this thread, it looks like there's nothing to do with window update in new version as you mentioned: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3034586.0

Install win 7 no more auto update.
Haha this is actually a good solution. There are so many times Win10 force the updates even if you don't want them.

Actually its not.  With win 7 you will end up with GPU max number of them limitation.

Go to setting , click Network and Internet, click ethernet, click network 2 or whatsoever your network name is, then turn on the Metered Connection Wink You will now avoid to install windows update automatically... hope it helps..

That will only work if his/her pc is on wifi connection. I know there's a trick to make your ethernet connection as a metered connection. Here's one.

https://www.cnet.com/how-to/meter-your-ethernet-connection-in-windows-10/

If you need more assistance I can help you on this.

This is a better solution:

Change the Group Policy
If you have a Professional, Enterprise, or Education edition of Windows 10, you can turn off automatic updates. But the option is hidden.

Press Win-R, type gpedit.msc, press Enter. This brings up the Local Group Policy Editor.
Navigate the left pane as if it were File Explorer, to
Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Update.
Find and double-click Configure "Defer upgrades an updates"

It's a good thing I was able to find this thread. didn't think it was actually quite easy to stop windows from auto-updating with services.msc no longer permanently working...

I have a wired connection so I can't set my connection as metered. I looked at the microsoft store and found how easy it was to un-tick auto-updates and that was it.
