Let's all give the gift of bitcoin to our significant others and loved ones this holiday season. Remember to tell them where they can spend it.

Post your bitcoin gifting experience here: how they were received, what they were used for, and if you think it helped increase awareness...

How is the best way to give it? I presume it's best to use a paper wallet.

I support all efforts to spread the word about Bitcoin and gifting someone some coins is great.

But giving someone a paper wallet for them to redeem is probably THE worst introduction to Bitcoin I can think of.

Having to go through this complicated procedure to spend them is going to put a lot of people off from the start.

These look cool:

Hardforks aren't that hard. It’s getting others to use them that's hard.

I used 1 BTC Casascius coins as stocking stuffers last year. Definitely worked well as conversation pieces, and several of the people I gave them to ended up reading about bitcoin extensively.

Bitcoin is the first monetary system to credibly offer perfect information to all economic participants.

another good idea would be to give your usb miners to your old school so they can teach children in IT or D&T lessons how this wonderful technology works...

Just sayin...

2ndary market for block erupters for gifts I think that's cooler then then have to learn about it on their own and figure out what the heck the thing does and what its for.  if they are clever and figure out to solo with it and for the sheer luck of things hit a block now which is roughly under 4500 dollars they are super winning.  Its cooler than buying lotto tickets for them instead that's for sure.  I'd say give them the paper wallet and a block erupter so they're interested in it.  Or the $30 dollar paper wallet is cool too if someone is casual and would never be interested in btc.

I give Bitcoins out as a gift to my neices and nephews.

First I create a vanity address for them.

Then I get a word document birthday card and put the public and private address in the card.

I also include something saying they can import the private key using blockchain.info, with the direct link.

First seastead company actually selling sea homes: Ocean Builders https://ocean.builders  Of course we accept bitcoin.

I think I recall you doing this a few times around Christmas before. Your method is pretty straight forward.
