I dont agree. So years ago, i would agree with this statement. When bitcoin started first 9 yeas ago, it was a long term investment. And the people who hold their coins that long become now all rich. But nowadays, i would say bitcoin is much better for day trading. Because its almost so valuable, and i dont thinkt that it will rise the same times how it rises the last 9 years. Otherwise one bitcoin would be over a billion, and thats really unrealistic

If you want to have a short return of investment then not invest on bitcoin. Bitcoin is so volatile that even it increase and decrease in second. Most people complains about their loss on the price drop, I got loss too, but you will be broke when you sell it on a low price. If  people would be patient to wait a bit more then all would be good. Who else make millions on just a week ? None. Im saying this not just to promote holding but also encourage all those crypto users be patient and be calm on the price drop. Youre still not loss until you sell it on low price. Hold it for a while, if you are weary and try investing on others like ICOs until you almost forget it and go back when it pumps again. Nobody know when would it be increased but it would. Be strong people.

Nice post OP I can feel your sincere comment and not just to create new thread. Most of the people complaining on losses bitcoin are those day trader who are lack of knowledge on trading. Some people still don’t understand that to be able to become successful you need to become patient on the market movement. If you notice no long term holder ever complain in the price dip instead they are happy because they can cost average and grab the opportunity of lower price of BTC. Cryptocurrency works best in long term hold and graph history will prove that. If you react too quickly poor decisions might arise.

So many people complaining but where we can complaint? No where because all should know the risk involve with their decision. So please be aware regarding the risk involve and never think invest in bitcoin will be always win. Trading bitcoin most probably for long term but sometime we can have the advantage to use it for day trade and its specially for experiemce trader and not for newbie.

Of course bitcoin is for long term unless you are interested in insomnia and headache, I think buying bitcoin for short term is stressful and makes people aged, I'm not fan of short term trading.

I agree  with this, both assets are really great for long term investment, but for the assurance you may chose gold because of its consistent increase value by year. But nothing to compare in bitcoin which could make you get 10x more profits rather than gold. But as you said it was a big risk involved with it.

I believe that every investment is really depend on the limit of every individual. If we do investing in a long term maybe we can't really help our self on holding, because there are many opportunity to sell and we can really have some more problem to be solve and we need to sell our holdings. I believe that both long term and short term investment depend on the limitation.

And sometimes because of some necessary needs in our life, we just force ourselves to spend some of our bitcoins funds in order to survive. Either the market value was high or low.

Yeah sometimes it can't be helped that we're forced to sell at some point for various reasons. That's why for me, its essential that bitcoin isn't your only means of making money. If you solely rely on bitcoin then you'd end up using your investment, which doesn't make sense if you're an investor.

i agree with you, selling when the price are fall that means we loss. I see the bitcoin price always increase every year.

investing in ico projects right now is not good decision.many ico's project after entering market going down.and much investor suffering loss.better to hold bitcoin for long term invesment.

Very well said. That is the reason why some people got losses because they are not patient enough to wait for the price to pump again. The best way to avoid panic or should i say weak hands is to invest it in long term and avoid ourselves to check on the market redundantly because if we do, tendency most of the time is we cannot control our emotions and lead us to a decision that we may regret soon. Patience is a virtue and always be the key to success.

Yes, if they want faster profit then go to ICO's and not bitcoin.
They offer a big percentage for the early birds like 50 percent more for the first week of buying their coins.
Once they hit the target price when it is listed with exchanges then you already have a larger profit than any investor even those in bitcoin.
I bet there is a lot who have been doing this. Just be careful not to pick the token which is a scam. There is also a lot of them that is why they keep on banning ICO's

Which is why even in the ICOs that most of them have been going into; they always end up getting screwed anyway, as they just keep investing in everything they set their eyes on without doing proper research. The same way they could not research to know the importance of the bitcoin they are holding, is the same way they will never do research to understand why they should or should not invest in just any ICO.

Unfortunately most people are not getting this and that is why they easily get scared as things keep getting intense and as they keep seeing some corrections in the market, only for them to panic and sell at loss. To earn profit from short term trade or how its say Day Trading you need a lot of years experience from you shoulders to do that . For newbie here long term is more profitable and stable to earn profit then short term.

I'm sure the people who lose when invested in short term they don't intend to invest in cryptocurrency. They just like profir and promissing have invested in cryptocurrency. But I'm prefer to invest for short term, why? the reason is I take my brain calm down, I wouldn't make my brain see the price continue to decline.
